BLYTHECO CARRYING INSIDEVIEW

Steve Blythe, BlythecoThe product line for top Sage reseller Blytheco is significantly expanding. After taking on SugarCRM and announcing it will soon market a cloud-based financial application, the Laguna Hills, Calif.-based operation has started carrying InsideView and HubSpot. This is in line with a statement this month by CEO Steve Blythe that he wants his revenue mix to go from 60 percent ERP and 30 percent CRM to 50 percent CRM and 40 percent ERP. Read more...

NOT WAITING FOR BIG GUYS' CLOUDS

The important thing in this year's Top 100 VAR list is not how many resellers are carrying cloud products. It is who they are.  It looks like 21 of the 100 chosen are marketing Internet-based financial applications, up from 11 in 2011. SAP NORTH AMERICAN PREZ OUT

Robert Courteau, SAPSAP said execution issues cut into its North American results for the first quarter ended March 31. Software revenue was off by 7 percent in constant currencies for the Americas region. In a conference call held Friday, SAP's co-CEOs William McDermott and Jim Hagemann-Snabe said that swift action had been taken. "We adjusted leadership where we needed to," said McDermott.

CDC SOFTWARE GOES PRIVATE

The company, which had its public offering in September 2009, has been taken private following purchase of a controlling interest by Vista Equity Partners. SAP SPENDS BIG ON DATABASES

SAP logoSAP is putting millions into promoting its Hana in-memory database platform and in seeding startups to develop for that technology. The company intends to establish a $155 million venture fund for ISVs and to pump another $337 million incentive for customers to move to Hana.

EPICOR TOOLS GO SAAS

epicor logoEpicor has made its eMarketing and eSurvey tools available in SaaS form. EMarketing is designed for delivering newsletters, email marketing campaigns, and marketing automation. Epicor eSurveys, an enterprise survey platform, provides real-time, Web-based reporting and analysis. eSurveys creates a hyperlink for each survey, so that questions can be delivered via email, embedded in a Web site, and integrated into social media tools. Tools include crosstabs, charts, statistical reports and analytics of open-ended questions. The two products can operate as standalone tools or can integrate with other Epicor applications that utilize Epicor Service Connect, an integration platform.

SAGE VAR EXPANDS HOSTING

Stan Kania, Software LinkStan Kania, who owns Sage reseller Software Link, has expanded the hosting program that is being provided through another of his companies, MyownASP.com. The Alpharetta, Ga.-based operation has begun a partner program via which Sage resellers can receive recurring revenue on products hosted by Kania’s business.

SAGE PRICE HIKE BOOSTS SALES

sagelogo80Customers appear to have taken advantage of the "buy-before-prices-go-up" message from Sage's channel members last month. As explained by resellers, Sage boosted the cost of two pricing plans—one per module and the other user pricing—by 20 percent on April 1. The reason for the increase was to make the new subscription pricing more palatable was the explanation I got from one dealer.
