Last month's statement from Microsoft’s channel exec Doug Kennedy that the United Kingdom might be a place for a Master VAR drew a comment that there may be only one candidate. And that is M-Hance which formed last fall. The company sells Dynamics AX and GP. In November, the company was formed through the joining of seven reselling organizations: Calyx Software, Gyrosoft, Trinity Computer Services, and divisions of MentecPlus, Touchstone Group, Sys-Care, and Avant-Garde.

A funny thing happened on the way to the webinar. It was cancelled. In this case, it was the webinar scheduled for resellers of Microsoft Office 365 who were told they could sign up for "Microsoft Office 365 Partners – Increase Your Revenue with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online." It was supposed to be held Thursday, April 4.
INFOR RAISED $1 BILLION NEW EQUITY

Infor has raised more than $1 billion in new equity over the last year. That number was given as the company said it had a new investment from its chief backer, Golden Gate Capital, and from Summit Partners and that it had also refinanced the company's debt capital structure. The announcement noted the completion of the merger of Infor and Lawson Software. Golden Gate and Infor had purchased Lawson last year.

AVECTRA RECRUITS CHANNEL

Avectra, which markets membership management applications, is recruiting resellers. It's a limited number and I think it's going to look a lot like the Intacct channel, a company with which it has a relationship. Avectra wants about 20 resellers in the United States and Canada, according to CEO Richard Davis. And right now it has announced Signer Lewak and Equation Technologies as resellers with other prospects in the hopper.

Two veteran Sage resellers, Arxis Technology and SystemLink, have entered an affiliation agreement. The deal has SystemLink, based in Herndon, Va., representing Arxis from its offices, including Philadelphia, Baltimore, the D.C. area and Dublin, Ireland.
SUGARCRM GETS $33 MILLION

SugarCRM, which has been making gains in the channel, now has $33 million more to continue on that track. The company said it has completed a round of equity and debt financing. The investment round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and includes participation from new investors Silicon Valley Bank and Gold Hill Capital.

HENDRIKSE GETS ACUMATICA CMO TITLE

Stijn Hendrikse has taken the title of chief marketing officer at Acumatica. Hendrikse announced last month in his blog that he was leaving Microsoft after 12 years for Acumatica. However, his title had not been announced. But the new tag now appears on his LinkedIn page and shows him as having officially started the new job this month. Read more...

A Microsoft study, designed to show attitudes of small and midsize business regarding cloud products, also asked its 3,000 participants who influenced them in making decisions about such products. And accountants came in last. The category word was "advice from your company accountant" that trailed the pack with mentions by 17 percent of the survey group.

XERO REVS DOUBLE

Online accounting software provider Xero more than doubled revenue and the number of paying business customers for the 12 months ended March 31. The New Zealand-based company said that reached reach about $15.7 million ($19 million in New Zealand dollars.) Business customers grew to more than 78,000 from 36,000.
