That was a figure handed out this week by CFO Ron Gill at Barclays Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference. SAP BUYING ARIBA

aribaSAP has agreed to spend about $4.3 billion to buy Ariba, which operates a buyer-seller network online. The deal is being handled through the German company's subsidiary, SAP America, which is offering $45 a share for Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Ariba. Read more...

INTACCT PICKS UP MORE VARS

Sandra Allin Wyman, Gilchrist ScottIntacct has signed two more resellers to handle its Internet-based application. Among the latest was Axis Integrated Solutions, which is based in St. Louis. Axis carries Sage Pro and Sage 300 (formerly Accpac). Axis is headed by Kelly Hummel.  Intacct also added Portland, Maine-based Gilchrist Scott to its channel. Read more...

IN BALANCE JOINS SBS

The SBS Group has brought In Balance of Bakersfield, Calif., into its network. The California company is now known as the SBS Group Central California office as SBS continues to expand under the Microsoft Master VAR program. The other two Master VARs, Tribridge and Socius, have signed one each so this continues to be pretty much an SBS show. In Balance sells Dynamics GP, SL and CRM. In Balance is headed by CEO Sandy Foster.

ACUMATICA BULKS UP CHANNEL TEAM

Mike Silver, AcumaticaAcumatica has beefed up its channel team with two hires. The most interesting is the naming of Mike Silver to lead partner consulting. Silver founded Omnios which was purchased by the SBS Group. Not surprisingly, Silver's roots as in selling Solomon, which is the architectural ancestor of Acumatica's application. Read more...

SUITEYS HIGHLIGHT QB REPLACEMENT

Zach Nelson, NetSuiteNo, NetSuite did not make a big deal about replacing QuickBooks in its first-ever Suitey awards. But in the six categories in which the displaced financial package was named, QuickBooks was involved in six of them. The Suiteys were handed out last week and replaced the infamous Hair Ball Awards. WAVE ACCOUNTING GETS $12 MILLION

Based in Toronto, Wave said the funding round was led by The Social+Capital Partnership with participation from existing investors Charles River Ventures and OMERS Venture.

INFOR NAMES NEW VP

Ali Shadman, InforInfor has named Ali Shadman as SVP of a new organization that it said would help customers upgrade to the company’s latest technologies. Shadman, who reports to CEO Charles Phillips, is responsible for building tools and programs to accelerate customer upgrades to the latest release of Infor applications. One specific goal was to utilize virtualization in hybrid cloud, on-premise deployments. Previously, Shadman was VP and chief technologist for HP’s Technology consulting division. He also held executive positions with Unisys over eight years in two different tenures with that company.
