With A&E cancelling “Dog the Bounty Hunter” as one of its realty show offering, Duane "Dog" Chapman has moved on to a new series “Dog, the Bunny Hunter” in which the long-haired trails escaped rabbits and returns them to the teary-eyed owner. However, the promising start ends quickly when Dog's family assembles and terrifies the children just by showing up.

Avalara's geolocation sales tax engine is now part of Intuit's GoPayment mobile payment application. The engine calculates taxes based on the location of a sale, taking into account the city, state and municipal tax codes, as well as special tax districts.

When NetSuite readied itself for SuiteWorld conference earlier this month, CEO Zach Nelson promised an announcement that would be a revolutionary technology. That turned out to be SuiteCommerce, which the company labeled as Commerce as a Service. How revolutionary depends on your perspective as one analyst reacted that it was stuff that we’d heard before.

Version 5 of F9 for Dynamics SL has been released with new features designed to enhance its ability to work with Excel 2007 and 2010. Changes include new Task Panes so that users interact with F9 directly from the Excel spreadsheet. Also added are Reporting Controls displayed in a drop-down format for selection of filters while enhanced toolsets provide improved Analyze and Zero Suppress functionality.

Epicor just put an end to the company that has been its Global Partner of the Year for the last four years. The Dublin, Calif.-based software company has acquired virtually all of the assets of New Zealand-based Cogita Holdings. The deal is expected to close by May 31. No terms were announced.Read more...

Manufacturing Information Systems, a manufacturing software vendor, has named Nelson Rooker as director of software development. Rooker worked for Alcara Software for 13 years. MiSys, based in Woodstock, Vt., develops applications that work with Intuit’s QuickBooks and Sage 50 U.S. and Canadian Editions (formerly Peachtree and Simply Accounting), and Sage 300 (formerly Accpac).

Sage should complain to YouTube about its advertising placement. After discovering there was a Sage ERP X3 Global sales convention in January in Paris, I went to the YouTube Video. (Let's forget about the obnoxious, loud music that started playing the moment the page opened.)

NETSUITE: MID-MARKET SELLING PRICE UP

The average selling price for NetSuite's mid-market deals rose by 10 percent in 2011. That was a figure handed out this week by CFO Ron Gill at Barclays Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference. This is not a number I recall being previously discussed in public by NetSuite executives.

SAP BUYING ARIBA

SAP has agreed to spend about $4.3 billion to buy Ariba, which operates a buyer-seller network online. The deal is being handled through the German company's subsidiary, SAP America, which is offering $45 a share for Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Ariba.
