SAGE PRICE HIKE BOOSTS SALES

sagelogo80Customers appear to have taken advantage of the "buy-before-prices-go-up" message from Sage's channel members last month. As explained by resellers, Sage boosted the cost of two pricing plans—one per module and the other user pricing—by 20 percent on April 1. The reason for the increase was to make the new subscription pricing more palatable was the explanation I got from one dealer.

DELTEK CEO'S PAY DROPS

Kevin Parker, DeltekA $1 million-dollar drop in the equity awards led to a 27.8 percent fall in compensation for Deltek CEO for 2011. Parker earned $3.2 million for the most recent year, down from $4.1 million in 2010. The decline stemmed entirely from the change equity awards to just over $2 million from $3.1 million the prior year. Read more...

COLUMBUS REPORTS LOSS

columbus logoThe lousy European economy took a toll on the 2011 results for Columbus, the Dynamics reseller formerly known as Columbus IT Partner. The company lost about $1.8 million for the most recently ended year, compared to a net result of about $2.4 million. The latter number represents earnings before the impact of currency exchange on the results of subsidiaries.

U.K. DYNAMICS VARS JOIN

Mark Thompson, M-HanceLast month's statement from Microsoft’s channel exec Doug Kennedy that the United Kingdom might be a place for a Master VAR drew a comment that there may be only one candidate. And that is M-Hance which formed last fall. The company sells Dynamics AX and GP. In November, the company was formed through the joining of seven reselling organizations: Calyx Software, Gyrosoft, Trinity Computer Services, and divisions of MentecPlus, Touchstone Group, Sys-Care, and Avant-Garde.

Office 365 logoA funny thing happened on the way to the webinar. It was cancelled. In this case, it was the webinar scheduled for resellers of Microsoft Office 365 who were told they could sign up for "Microsoft Office 365 Partners – Increase Your Revenue with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online." It was supposed to be held Thursday, April 4.

INFOR RAISED $1 BILLION NEW EQUITY

Charles Phillips, InforInfor has raised more than $1 billion in new equity over the last year. That number was given as the company said it had a new investment from its chief backer, Golden Gate Capital, and from Summit Partners and that it had also refinanced the company's debt capital structure. The announcement noted the completion of the merger of Infor and Lawson Software.  Golden Gate and Infor had purchased Lawson last year. Read more...
