Blackbaud has released Blackbaud Online Express, a cloud-based tool for organizations that use its Raiser's Edge fundraising system. The Charleston, S.C.-based nonprofit software vendor bills the new SaaS product as mobile friendly and offering easy-to-building online donation forms and email marketing templates designed for nonprofits. Online Express works with such website management tools as Drupal and Joomla. Major features include the ability to create unlimited donation forms that can be transfer to users' websites by copying and pasting automatically-generated HTML code.
XERO RINGS UP $150M INVESTMENT

Recently, someone was speculating on the future of online accounting software vendor Xero based on the rate it was burning cash. Those calculations did not take into account the fact that Xero would be able to raise another $150 million in new funding, largely from American investors. The New Zealand-based company said this week that U.S. firms, including include Valar Ventures and Matrix Capital Management, chipped in $123 million of that amount.

Swiftpage, which acquired SalesLogix and Act from Sage, has introduced new mobile apps and mobile pricing for SalesLogix. The company is offering the third generation of the SalesLogix Mobile platform1 and the accompanying app. SalesLogix Mobile 3.0 is offered in a mobile-only subscription option for $25 per user per month.

Infor has introduced the UpgradeX Program that is designed to assist its customers in moving from on-premise systems to the Cloud. The program moves existing systems to the company's 10x-enabled version of the applications in the cloud. Infor is offering what it called a one-time modest setup fee for moving the data.

Payroll provider Paychex has invested in online accounting software company Kashoo. The size of the equity investment was not revealed; however two Paychex executives now sit on the Kashoo board of directors. Paychex CEO Martin Mucci issued a statement that the investment is part of an expansion of products and services his company provides to small and mid-sized clients and the accounting community.

Adaptive Planning, which makes on line budgeting and forecasting software, has signed three specialized resellers in the United Kingdom. Over the last year, the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company has expanded its presence internationally in United Kingdom and Ireland, Australia and Japan. The newbies in the latest round are AgencyDNA, Alui and Concentric Solutions. AgencyDNA also markets Accountability, an accounting system for creative and communications businesses.

Xero has scheduled a road show to provide free training for accountants and bookkeepers. The 20-city tour kicks off on October 21 in Baltimore and ends on November 21 in Honolulu with six of those stops in California from San Diego through the home city of San Francisco and inland to Sacramento. The tour is touted as providing a sneak peak at Xero Payroll.

You can understand why Infor would want to talk non-GAAP numbers. For its first quarter ended August 31, there was a 1-percent rise in revenue accompanied by a 1-percent hike in operating expenses. Yawn. The company did post $23.1 million in net income, a rebound from a loss of $33.3 million in last year's corresponding period.

SugarCRM is debuting the next version of its open source CRM application this week. The preview is being made at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo. Sugar bills the system as "user empowerment-focused vision for next-generation CRM". However that gets defined, the new features include advanced social capabilities.
