ERP MESSES A GOOD MARKET IN 2012?

/panorama logoThe Panorama Consulting Group has issued its top ten predictions for the ERP market for next year.  The most interesting thing is what two of them may mean in terms of opportunity. These are No. 3, acceleration of ERP failures and No. 5, fewer do-it-yourself ERP products. There’s a direct relationship between these since it’s the D-I-Y jobs that lead to failures. It’s sort of like the TV sitcom when the main character tries to fix the plumbing to save money and ends up spending a bundle to rebuild the bathroom.

WAVE BUYS PAYROLL OPS

Wave Accounting, which markets online accounting applications, has acquired Small Payroll, which markets online payroll services.  Both companies are headquartered in Canada. The acquired product is being launched in a beta program this quarter and in the United States early next year. It is being renamed Wave Payroll. Read more...

ELDRIDGE JOINS QUEUE ASSOCIATES

queue logoKen Eldridge, a veteran Dynamics reselling executive, has joined Queue Associates of New York as VP of Sales.  Eldridge spent January 1998 through May 2006 at ePartners after that organization purchased his  reselling business, Boston Sales Automation. COLUMBUS IT BAILS IN SPAIN, FRANCE

columbus_it_partner-logoColumbus IT Partner, a large Microsoft retailer in Europe, has sold its subsidiaries in France and Spain. The operations were purchased by Prodware, which in the words of one (largely English) press release: “Prodware blev etableret i 1989 og skaber, integrerer og hoster it-løsninger for virksomheder.” You can probably get the gist of that. That information was released as the company reported results for the third quarter ended September 31.

SALES EXPENSES PRODUCE SILVERSUN LOSS

swk technologies logoSilverSun Technologies, the parent of Sage reseller SWK Technologies, reported a $14,141 loss for the third quarter ended September 30, compared to $730,785 in net income in last year’s corresponding period.  But revenue grew to $2.4 million in the most recent quarter, up a healthy 24.2 percent over last year’s $1.9 million as consulting revenue propelled growth. This is the first quarter for SilverSun (formerly known as Trey Resources) in which the lines on the financial statements look more normal. Read more...

DELTEK MOVES INTO HQ

deltek logo newDeltek has moved into a new headquarters in Herndon, Va. The company said the facility consolidates 700 local employees in one building.  Interesting that in describing the facility as having 103 open collaboration spaces, 120 community whiteboards and 29 huddle rooms, the announced said that there are also two game rooms. INFOR BUYS SERVICE MANAGEMENT APPS

Infor logoInfor is staying on the acquisition road with the purchase of product lines from Single Source Systems, a third-party developer for Infor and Sage.  Infor acquired products that include Service Management Plus (SM-Plus), SM-Plus Mobile and Workbench Suite. SM-Plus is described as enabling service-centric companies that make, distribute and service high-value or complex equipment to manage the entire service life cycle of that equipment. Read more...

BIZOBJECTS GETS MOBILE ARSENAL

SAPAs SAP spun out an array of announcements from its Tech-Ed and Sapphire Now events in Madrid, Spain, it launched a variety of mobile apps for BusinessObjects.  The Strategy Management mobile app, also available on iTunes, enables executives to collaborate from the field and manage threaded discussions, respond to alerts and review information such as timelines and budget status. SAGE VET BERGERA EXITS CCH

bergeraJoe Bergera, who jumped from Sage North America to CCH, has left the job of VP and general manager for CCH's tax business unit. Bergera was EVP and GM for CRM for Sage North America and was a highly regarded executive. The job he took at CCH in March was to head a new business unit. Bergera's LinkedIn resume changed this week to show he is now group VP of software at Roper Industries.

FISHBOWL OPENS API TO SPUR DEVELOPMENT

Fishbowl has opened its API to promote development of applications based on the Fishbowl Inventory 2012 platform. The vendor also launched the Fishbowl Developer Nations to support users and partners in stimulating development. The company said the API supports Fishbowl Enterprise. At the same time, the company announced the first three members of the program,  document management provider eFileCabinet, mobile developer Sharpe Concepts, and integrated packing and shipping provider Pacejet.
