NETSUITE INTROS NEW ONEWORLD

netsuite logoNetSuite has released OneWorld 2011 with one highlight being automated intercompany management that the company says “accelerates and increases the efficiency and rigor of the close process.” (I like to pretend I understand what all this stuff means.) It expands support for international taxation and audit reporting and provides new advanced inventory costing capabilities, Standard Costing functionality. Tax reporting has been expanded to more than 40 companies and support for Dutch and French Canadian is offered. There is also new vendor bill approval routing and real-time multidimensional analysis through Pivot analytics. CRM has been enhanced with Product Affinity Analytics, designed to provide insights into correlations between products typically purchased together and new sales activity management. Read more...

SAP ADDS 100 BYD SITES IN 3Q

Jim Hagemman-SnabeSAP added 100 customers for its web-based Business ByDesign during the third quarter ended September 30. That's based on comments during this week's earnings conference call made by co-CEO Jim Hagemann-Snabe. The executive said there were 650 ByD customers at the end of the quarter and that compares to a report of 550 buyers at the end of the June quarter. Hagamann-Snabe repeated SAP's belief it will reach 1,000 customers for the product by the end of 2011.

DELTEK: WE'RE WINNING AGAINST NETSUITE

Kevin ParkerNetSuite spends a lot of time talking about customers it wins from other vendors. But this week Deltek CEO Kevin Parker dismissed claims the web-based competitor has made about making inroads against Deltek. "On the very low end of the business, NetSuite is out there. It’s a potential alternative, but doesn’t have the functionality we do or the experience," Parker said. "They [NetSuite] certainly make a lot of noise." Read more...

DELPHIA PICKS UP ABRA PRACTICE

Rob DenkewalterDelphia Consulting has acquired Solutions Technology & Software, an Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based reseller of Sage's Abra HR and payroll software.  STS was founded in 1992 by Rob Denkewalter, who will continue to head the operation from the Illinois office  senior HR and payroll consultant. STS says that it has implemented more than 300 Abra systems. Delphia, based in Columbus, Ohio, also offers TimeStar Enterprise, a time and attendance, workforce automation and labor management application and publishes its own HR Actions, a web-based workflow application for Abra that enables clients to create, route and approve web-based HRMS forms, including performance appraisal.

SBS, SOCIUS NAMED DYNAMICS MASTER VARs

Joseph LongoThe SBS Group, based in Woodbridge, N.J., and Columbus, Ohio-area Socius have been announced as Master VARs in the new Microsoft Dynamics program.  An announcement to the Microsoft channel said that one other candidate is being considered. Microsoft also warned that other channel aggregations, including buying groups, are in violation of their agreements with Microsoft.

CDC FILES CHAPTER 11; CEO LIED

Peter YipCDC, the parent of CDC Software, has filed for Chapter 11 protection in a Georgia court. Meanwhile, the parent and CDC Software both made management changes as the company deals with the impact of a $65 million judgment  obtained against it by holders of CDC debt.

WAVE RAISES $5 MILLION

Toronto-based Wave Accounting has raised $5 million Canadian in its Series A financing round. Wave provides a free on-line accounting application for small business. The company itself gets money from targeted advertising and buying-group opportunities. The round was led by Charles River Ventures with the participation of OMERS Ventures. The company will use the money for application development, as well as the launch of a complementary payroll application later this year. Read more...
