The New York City-based Sage reseller has been vying with Blytheco to be the biggest VAR in the Sage channel and when Chicago-area Hightower shut its doors earlier this year, Net@Work tried to buy the remains. SOCIUS SIGNS FIRST AFFILIATE

Socius logoSocius, one of three Master VARs, has become the last one to sign its first Sales Affiliate. The partner company is Direct Technologies, based in Youngstown, Ohio. The affiliate will conduct its Dynamics business under the Socius brand but will market other products and services as Demand Technologies.

NORRIQ NARROWS LOSS

Norriq LogoNorriq, one of the Dynamics resellers hammered by the European economy, narrowed its loss for 2011 by 73 percent while revenue grew by 2.4 percent over 2010. One reason for being concerned with Norriq, which has subsidiaries in Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands, is that its Chairman Peter Thiell claimed Microsoft said it is the largest and most important partner in The Nordic Countries and “also in the most of Europe” because of the increase in new Dynamics NAV customers.

EXPENSES DENT BLACKBAUD EARNINGS

Anthony Boor, BlackbaudExpenses took a bite out of the bottom line at nonprofit vendor Blackbaud as the company had good sales growth. Net income for the first quarter ended March 31 dropped to $2.8 million, down 62.2 percent from $7.3 million in last year's corresponding period. Revenue grew to $94.7 million, up 9.3 percent from $86.6 million a year ago. Read more...

 Marc Chardon, BlackbaudBlackbaud's executives generally had a good year in compensation last year, except for CEO Marc Chardon after directors changed his compensation plan to base stock awards more on performance than on time. Linda Bryan, Tamlin SoftwareTamlin Software Developers has acquired Dominion Software Consulting of Brevard, N.C. Both companies are AccountMate resellers. Based in Dallas, Tamlin, whose clients are primarily manufacturers and distributors, sells the Tamlin Manufacturing Conductor Software.

COLUMBUS 1Q EBITDA DROPS

Columbus logoColumbus, formerly known as Columbus IT Partner, saw a 20-percent drop in EBITDA on a 10.6-percent increase in revenue for the first quarter ended March 30. The Copenhagen-based Dynamics reseller had EBITDA of about $619,000. The company blamed a revenue mix with more lower-margin items and "project challenges in the Nordic region" for the earnings fall off. Read more...

SAP BEAT BYDESIGN TARGETS

Mark Milford, SAPSAP topped its target for new accounts and for revenue for Business ByDesign in North America during the first quarter. That was according to Mark Milford, national VP of the SAP North America Ecosystem Group. Milford says SAP has 45 ByD partners in North America and that appears to be about enough. Read more...
