NETSUITE PICKS UP VARS

Eric Sheehan, OTTNetSuite has added the Estes Group, Fieldpoint Service Applications and OTT to its Solution Partner Program. The three newbies are a diverse group. The Estes Group sells Epicor 9 and 10 and OTT is a Dynamics GP VAR. Based in Estes Park, Colo., The Estes Group was founded in 2004 with CEO Bruce Grant as managing partner until he took his current title in December 2013.

INTUIT: BUYERS FOR QUICKBASE, QUICKEN

Allison Mnookin, QuickbaseQuicken, Intuit's pioneering money management tool, and QuickBase, the application development platform that never seemed to fit Intuit, are being sold to private equity firms. Quicken will be sold to HIG Capital of Miami, Fla.; QuickBase to Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, based in New York City. Terms were not disclosed for either deal.

EX-SAGE EXEC SPRING GETS JOB

Rich Spring, Seal SoftwareRich Spring, who bolted from Sage  in January, has taken a job as SVP of field operations for Seal Software. Spring left the position EVP and chief revenue officer after impressing the Sage channel and serving 10 months in that position. Based in San Francisco, Calif., Seal makes contract discovery, extraction and analytics applications that are sold into the Fortune 500.

SLEETER GONE FROM SLEETER GROUP

Doug Sleeter, The Sleeter Group You have to give the sponsors of Accountex USA, the conference that was known as SleeterCon credit for creativity in writing press releases. The February 23 release that says Doug Sleeter will keynote the event and ooze praise with phrases such as "Highly sought after for his ability to engage and educate accounting professionals on modern developments ..." His own description about his status with the company however, was a bit different.

DEALS HURT EDGEWATER NET

Shirley Singleton, Edgewater TechnologyAcquisitions benefited the top line of Edgewater Technology but helped push the company to a loss for the year ended December 31. The company lost $4.1 million in 2015, compared to net income of $4.1 million in 2014. Meanwhile revenue rose to $116.7 million for the most recently ended year an increase of 3.3 percent from $113 million the prior year.

EXACT TRIES IN-PRODUCT INFO

ExactExact has begun using in-product messaging to inform the market about product developments for its cloud application, Exact Online. The company says in a blog post that "We thought it would be a good idea to tell you about the latest developments in the interface itself." Messages, the company says, will appear only in the appropriate menus and to relevant users.

TRUECOMMERCE REBRANDS IN EUROPE

David Grosvenor, HighJump SoftwareTrueCommerce has rebranded three European businesses under the TrueCommerce Europe name. The organizations are Wesupply, Atlas Products and HighJump B2Bi. Atlas Products was purchased in August 2014 and Wesupply was acquired in September 2015. TrueCommerce Europe with be led by SVP David Grosvenor, who had served as CEO of Wesupply since December 2010.

ACUITY TOP DELTEK VISION VAR

Acuity Business Solutions Acuity Business Solutions of York, Pa., has been named as Deltek Vision Partner of the Year. The Reston, Va.-based software company also named Aronson, of Rockville, Md.; as GovCon Partner of the Year. The top picks were publicized along with the names of the company's Premier Partners for both product lines. The Vision Premier Partners for 2016 was the same as for 2015 except that last year, there was one more in the category, AMR Group of Toronto, Ontario, which did not make the cut for 2016.
