ACCUFUND LINKS TO DOCUMENT APP

Peter Stam, AccuFundNonprofit software company AccuFund has agreed to integrate the RVI Document Imaging System with the AccuFund Accounting Suite. Under a partnership between AccuFund and Real Vision Software, customers will have access to RVI'S document imaging and storage capabilities for organizations with enterprise-level requirements.

NETSUITE NAMES ASIA GM

Zakir Ahmed, NetSuiteNetSuite has hired Zakir Ahmed as VP and GM for Asia in what appears to be an intensification of the cloud software company's activities in that region. Based in Singapore Ahmed has the job of building the company's activities in its offices in Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong. His LinkedIn page shows he assumed the role in January.

EDGEWATER, INVESTOR, MAKE PEACE

Jeffrey E. Eberwein, Lone Star Investors Edgewater Technology has come to terms with Lone Star Investors, which had sought to oust the Edgewater directors. The parties this week agreed to expand the board of directors of the Wakefield, Mass.-based consulting and reselling company from six to eight and to add two Lone Star nominees, Timothy Whelan and Stephen R. Bova. The agreement also kills the immediate prospect of a takeover of Edgewater by another company.

M&A PUSHES SWK RESULTS

swkFour acquisitions last year pushed results of SWK Technologies higher for the year ended December 31. The impact of the deals was spelled out in the financial results of SWK'S parent, SilverSun Technologies, which were reported to the SEC this week. All of SilverSun's operations are through SWK. Net income for 2015 was $374,305, an increase of 94 percent from $192,901, the prior year. Revenue of $27.6 million last year was up 28.8 percent from $21.6 million in 2014.

NETSUITE PROMOTES FORMAN

Michael Forman, NetSuiteLong-time NetSuite employee Michael Forman has been promoted to SVP and global controller and appointed as the software company's principal accounting officer. He was previously VP of finance and corporate controller. Forman, age 45, was previously VP of finance and corporate controller. He was been with the San Mateo, Calif.-based cloud software publisher since May 2004. I am assuming that adding the word "global" to the job description reflects the company's growth and need for someone to overlook the growing international business.

K3 PROFITS JUMP; REVS SLUGGISH

Lars-Olof Norell, K3 Business Technology GroupThe K3 Business Technology Group, a Dynamics reseller based in the United Kingdom, had a sharp jump in profit for the half ended December 31. But revenue was is a low-growth mode for the retail software specialist. Profit before tax was about $6.7 million, an increase of 33 percent from the similar period a year ago; up 36 percent in constant currency. Revenue crawled up by 1 percent for the most recently ended half to about $59.7 million, an increase of 4 percent in constant currency. The company sounded a theme heard among large Microsoft VARs—the need to grow revenue of their own products.

MICROSOFT HAPPY WITH ENVISION

Duncan Garside, MicrosoftMicrosoft is happy with the attendance for its upcoming Envision conference and expects from 6,000 to 6,500 people. These numbers were provided in a recent conference call with the channel by Duncan Garside, head of experiential marketing for Microsoft. Garside said new registrations were averaging 150 to 200 per day mid month. It looks like sometime in the last month, Microsoft tilted the conference back more towards the Convergence model.

MISYS GROWS DEVELOPMENT

Daniel Orcutt, MISysManufacturing Information Systems (MISys) has expanded its software development team to work on the next generation of its MISys Inventory Manager. The Woodstock, Ver.-based company has named Daniel Orcutt as director of development to lead the development team and manage outside development efforts. His Linkedin page shows he started in November. Orcutt worked at Woburn, Mass.-based Monotype from August 2007 until returning to his home town.

SAP GOING DEEPER IN INDIA

Bill McDermott, SAPSAP is taking steps to help startup companies in India. CEO Bill McDermott said this week the Germany-based software company is making its code available to such businesses so they can build on SAP's in-memory company platform Hana. SAP said it is already working closely with more than 400 startups in the subcontinent and said that 16 percent of its startup engagements are in India where it is adding about 100 such engagements each year.
