MineralTree has had resellers prior to this month. But the Cambridge, Mass.-based the accounts payable (AP) and payment automation software company has not had a former program until now. The company has hired Colin Toomey as partner development manager to work with MineralTree's coterie of resellers and business process outsourcers. From March 2010 until taking the new job, Toomey worked at Cayan.
I.B.I.S.'S VABULAS TO RETIRE

Andy Vabulas has decided to retire as president of I.B.I.S. after leading the Atlanta, Ga.-area reseller for 27 years. His last day will be April 7, which takes him through the Envision conference and presumably, the last, Randy & Andy party run by Vabulas and Randy Forkner of Collins Computing, which has been a looked-for event at the World Wide Partner Conference and the former Convergence. Sonata Software of Bangalore, India, acquired the Dynamics reseller last fall.

MicroAccounting Solutions has added Acumatica's cloud-based offerings to its product line up. That gives the historical Sage reseller two SaaS applications—it also sells Intacct. However, Stuart Blumenthal, VP of cloud solutions for the Dallas, Texas, and Chicago, Ill.-based VAR, said this week the fact Acumatica also offers a desktop version of the accounting software is a big plus.

Four acquisitions led reseller and software developer Columbus to double-digit increases in revenue and net income last year. And the biggest impact was in the United States which benefited from 2015's acquisition of InterDyn BMI and Sherwood Systems. In fact, the increase in Columbus' revenue for the year ended January 31 was 245.2 million euros and the increase from the U.S. was 241.4 million euros.
CLOUD TAKES TOLL ON QAD

The switch to the cloud, combined with the impact of currency changes, cut a swath through the QAD revenue line for the year ended January 31. The impact of the stronger dollar chopped $19.9 million from fiscal 2016 revenue. And so revenue fell to $277.9 million for the most recently ended year, down 5.8 percent from $295.1 million for fiscal 2105. On a constant currency basis, revenue was up 1 percent.

The Prodware Group, a Sage and Dynamics reseller based in France, reported a 5.9-percent increase in earnings for the year ended December 31. The net result hit about $6.3 million. Prodware also reported net result group share of roughly $6.56 million for the same year, up 8.1 percent over 2014. [Don't ask me to define the difference.]

GOLDMINE SIGNS RESELLER

There is a headline we have not seen in a long time. But venerable CRM publisher GoldMine has signed Trivium Technology of Boston, Mass., as an exclusive GoldMine VAR. The other interesting factor is that Trivium was founded this year to handle GoldMine, again something a bit rare. Trivium sells both GoldMine and GoldMine Cloud.
NETSUITE UPS EXECS' BASE PAY

NetSuite has raised the base salary of its five top executives effective April 1. In a filing with the SEC this week, the cloud software company reported the figures, whose major impact will be to raise the target incentives each of these individuals is eligible to receive for 2016. Not surprisingly, the largest increase went to president and COO James McGeever, who took over the president's job from CEO Zach Nelson in July.

Sage has named Van Diamandakis EVP of brand. And while the software company said this is "next stage of its global marketing plans", I believe we have been here before. After heading North American market for two years, Gabrielle Boko was EVP of global brand experience at Sage from July through December 2015. She surfaced in January at HP Enterprise.

Robert Johnson, who held key sales positions with Avalara and Sage, has taken the position of national sales director with Ameriflex. Ameriflex offers HR and related products, including OBRA administration and special plan billing services and compliance services. Johnson was with Timberline/Sage from 1999 through 2011.
