NETSUITE'S BIG PRODUCTS HOT

Zach Nelson, NetSuite NetSuite ended the year on December 31 with most important metrics changed in double digits. That includes its GAAP and non-GAAP losses, revenue, expenses and the average size of the company's SuiteCommerce deals. "We saw the average selling price actually double," CEO Zach Nelson said during this week's earnings webcast. The company also saw a record number of OneWorld deals.

NETSUITE SIGNS M-HANCE

NetSuite has signed m-Hance, a reseller based in the United Kingdom, to the NetSuite Solution Provider Partner Program. m-Hance is a Microsoft VAR that handles Dynamics GP and CRM and which will market NetSuite through its newly created HighCloud Solutions division. San Mateo, Calif.-based NetSuite also named five resellers on the European continent. But m-Hance is the most high-profile win.

UNIT4 NAMES STRATEGY/OPS EVP

Christophe Haugen, Unit4Unit4 has named Christophe Haugen as EVP Strategy and Operations. The Utrecht, Netherlands-based financial software company says Haugen is "responsible for driving strategy, corporate development and continuous business improvement across the global business." He was with Bain & Company from September 2007 until taking the job with Unit4. Since July 2012, he was a senior principal in Bain's European Private Equity and technology practices.

SAP'S MISSING BYD AWARD

SAPSAP recently announced partner awards in about every country and product category you could think of. But one was missing in some key geographies. While there were awards for the Business ByDesign channel members in EMEA and Europe and the Middle East, there were none in North America. The product was also missing from awards in Asia Pacific Japan; China and Latin America. But we're primarily concerned with North America here.

EUROPE DRIVES SAGE GROWTH

Steve Hare, SageBusiness in Europe was a major factor in a 6.6-percent increase in organic revenue for Sage's first quarter ended December 31. The company said this week that a 10.4-percent rise in organic recurring revenue was driven by a 35.7-percent hike in subscription income. The first quarter "does represent good progress," CFO Steve Hare said during a webcast of the trading update. In trading updates for the first and third quarters, European companies do not release actual revenue and earnings.

TATARINOV NOW CITRIX CEO

Kirill Tatarinov, Citrix   Kirill Tatarinov, who headed Microsoft's Dynamics operations from July 2007 through October 2015, has been appointed president and CEO of Citrix. The Citrix webpage with the press release announcing the move carried the sub-headline "Veteran Microsoft Executive Brings Product Leadership to Citrix", which seems to sum up the reason for his hiring.

Lady GagaScientist Stephen Hawking has issued a warning that humanity may be wiped out by nuclear war, genetically engineered viruses or global warming. He has earlier warned of the dangers of killer robots and human aggression. Vegas bookmakers have already posted odds for the new entries. Personally, I think we may not survive Vegas. ... Storm Jonas will be forgotten as easily as this year's boy band. ... Federal, state and local officials are scrambling to explain the decision by Flint, Mich., to take its drinking water from the Flint River, which has produced elevated lead levels.

SAP ON 2015: EVERYTHING WORKED

Bill McDermott, SAP With CEO Bill McDermott in his finest "resistance is futile" form, SAP reported strong results for the year ended December 31. In this week's earnings webcast, McDermott painted a picture of the software giant as a company that is in no bad markets and is crushing the competition. "We are one of the few companies that is growing both in the cloud and in license revenue," McDermott said. The German organization, he continued, has the most cloud customers of any software company and its performance is driving "gains about both core and narrowly focused cloud competitors" with the percentage of predictable revenue growing every year.

ITA CREATES VP JOB

Lissa Johnsen, Information Technology Alliance The Information Technology Alliance has named Lissa Johnsen to the newly created position of VP. Johnsen will take over the majority of the responsibilities of the organization's executive director, Jo Ann Benzer, who is retiring in August after 19 years in her job. Johnsen, who was most recently ITA's treasurer, is Employer Solutions Practice Director at Net@Work.

Shereen Mahoney, Brittenford Systems Brittenford Systems has been named Advisor of the Year for the Concur Advisor program for 2015. The Washington, D.C.-area reseller won the honor in the first year of the award program. CEO Shereen Mahoney notes Brittenford has been a Concur Platinum Advisor since 2013.The company received the award for leading the program in number of units sold through the advisor channel. The program encompasses accountants and ERP Solution Providers.
