SOCIUS SIGNS MANER COSTERISAN UNIT

Jeff Geisler, SociusSocius has signed Maner Costerisan Business Solutions & Technology as a sales affiliate. Socius, a Microsoft Master VAR based in Dublin, Ohio, linked up with the group, which is part of Lansing, Mich.-based accounting firm Maner Costerisan. This is an interesting one because for a brief while, Maner Costerisan seemed to be getting more visible in technology, but this is a step away from a D-I-Y reseller business.

DELTEK NAMES PREMIER PARTNERS

DeltekDeltek has announced its Premier Partners for 2013 and there was not much change in the cast of characters from 2012. There was, however, a change in numbers. Last year, there were nine Premier Partners; this year seven and that includes the fact that one of last year’s honored, Acumen Advisors of Reston, Va., demerged into Acuity Business Solutions, Reston, and Full Sail Partners, based in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Marc Loupe, SageOne change that was made very quietly last fall was when Marc Loupe, CFO of Sage North America, switched jobs. He became EVP of Sage CRM Solutions and Nonprofit Solutions and given the recently announced sales in those areas, it looks like he was in charge of shopping the Fund Accounting line, Act and SalesLogix. Since November, the company has had an acting CFO, Karen Mortham, who was not visible because her picture and name were not posted to the Sage website. Read more...

UXC PICKS UP NETSUITE

Ivan Cole, Cole SystemsUXC, an Australian-based company that carries enterprise and midmarket financial applications, has picked up the NetSuite line. It's really notable that UXC, formerly known as Eclipse Computing, moved into the new product on the heels of having a client win a Dynamics Customer Excellence award, the heels being about a week old. EPICOR ERP LICENSE REVENUE DROPS

Pervez Qureshi, Epicor SoftwareLicense sales for Epicor Software's ERP operations fell by 26.3 percent for the first quarter ended December 31, compared to results a year ago. Although that was overcome by a 31-percent increase in services revenue for the same period, this segment was hurt by a weak European economy, CEO Pervez Qureshi said in a conference call late last week. Qureshi also noted that in general, "Uncertainly around election, and the financial cliff and concern about European debt confidence began to erode confidence" during the quarter.

THE IPOD-IZATION OF SOFTWARE

ipodIt was always been notable that my 22-year old daughter liked a lot of old music. Not just Led Zeppelin, the Hollies and the Beatles, but Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong. And I attributed this to the Apple iPod – consumers can buy songs they like and not be forced to shell out for an album stuffed with music they do not want. So why should the same not be true of applications. Isn’t this what we are seeing with software?

DYNAMICS EXCELLENCE AWARDS; A 'BIG' EVENT

Dynamics logoThe Dynamics Excellence Awards, which are given to customers, are a big event, big in the sense that the resellers associated with the winners largely represent the large fry. In particular, four Hitachi Solutions America and two Edgewater Fullscope customers won awards. Tribridge, which has more than $100 million in revenue, had one winning client. Fullscope is somewhere in mid to upper $20-million-range and Hitachi mixes in its Dynamics business with a lot of higher end stuff, which makes it outsize for this market. Read more...
