Nonprofit software Serenic has added two American resellers to its channel program. The company has signed Integrated Computer Systems and Shepard & Associates. Headquartered in Redmond, Wash., ICS has experience with nonprofits and governmental entities and has been a Dynamics VAR since 1997. Based in Overland Park, Kan., Shepard is said to have 350 customers in the Midwest and has also been a Dynamics reseller since 1997.

Microsoft needs better communication with its channel, according to Rich Wickham, the new GM of Dynamics partner sales. “We need to do a better job of how we have a conversation with partners,” Wickham said during an interview at Microsoft’s Convergence conference this month. “I think we do not have enough collaborative conversations,” said Wickham, who said that more dialog is necessary because of the many changes the channel has faced recently.

Partner Power, an international consortium of Dynamics resellers, has introduced a transition management consulting program. Poul Kjaer, owner of Partner Power International, said the group is offering the consulting services because of the need to help clients understand how to adapt an ERP application to their needs.

Microsoft needs better channel management? That was one response from a reseller panel at Convergence asked the one thing Microsoft could do to make their lives earlier. “It’s almost like the lawyers run the place,” said Claude Watson, CEO of Denver-based mcaConnect. More specifically, Watson would like “to be able to register a lead and know that I am going to be able to work it.”

Sage North America has released mobile time collection and project file features in its cloud product, Sage Construction Anywhere. Anywhere integrates with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (the old Timberline) and the company said it would soon integrate with Sage 300 Contractor (the once Master Builder). Time reporting capabilities are available to iPhone users and will soon be available for Android. The Anywhere application was released about a year ago. The new release’s Project Files capability enables teams to share documents, drawings and photos.

JMT Consulting, a nonprofit software reseller, has become a reseller for Orange Leap, which makes cloud-based based Constituent Relationship Management software. Perhaps the relationship is not surprising as Orange Leap president Kent Hollrah was formerly president of Patterson, N.Y.-based JMT. It seemed logical to say JMT is a Sage reseller but since Sage has sold its nonprofit line, that is not quite accurate.

NETSUITE SNAGS ASIAN RESELLERS

NetSuite has signed five Asian VARs that it says are top resellers for competitors. Three of the dealers s are headquartered in Singapore with one of the others operating in China and one in Indonesia. Among the Singapore resellers is Afon, which is part of the SAP and NAV channel. Also based in that country are Evilog Consulting, which operates in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, and Software Alliance Partners, a division of the Alenu companies, which markets in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

There's a general impression that there were fewer reseller bigwigs at Microsoft Convergence this month. That does not mean there were fewer people at the show with its more than 11,000 attendees who registered as resellers. There were 1,575 resellers in attendance at Convergence 2012 and 1,665 in 2013, according to the official Microsoft count. But there seemed to be fewer owners visible. That's my impression and I quickly queried a handful of others who made the trip to New Orleans and got agreement on this point.

Reseller Mibar.net has been named 2012 Reseller of the Year for EDI solutions for Microsoft Dynamics GP customers by the TrueCommerce EDI Solutions Group. TrueCommerce, which is owned by HighJump Software, said the award is based on overall sales, professionalism, participation and customer feedback. Based in New York City, Mibar operates in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Connecticut and is led by president Bart Nachimow.

Columbus’ North American revenues shot up 50.7 percent for the year ended December 31 with a healthy contribution from the purchase of First Tech Direct in March. The Danish Dynamics reseller reported North American EBITDA of just under $3 million, a 17.2-percent rise from 2011 while North American revenue hit about $183.3 million. In its 2012 annual report, Columbus was sparse on North American numbers commenting only that “a satisfactory organic growth has been realized in North America.”
