Adaptive Planning, which markets online budgeting and forecasting applications, has named NetSuite as Worldwide Partner of the Year. And I would have to assume that given the description of those things factoring into the award - bookings, margin, innovative approaches, marketing, customer loyalty and collaboration – that the level of sales of what is sold as NetSuite Budgeting has a lot to do with that.

NetSuite plans to keep on aggressively adding sales capacity in 2013, although hiring this year is aimed more at adding bodies than increasing quotas. There was a 60-percent increase in capacity in 2012, according to CFO Ron Gill in comments he made this week at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference. “Quota increase will not be as big a factor,” he told the audience.

ACCUFUND READIES SAAS PRODUCT

Nonprofit vendor AccuFund is readying its AccuFund Anywhere cloud product for a launch sometime in March or April. The system is designed to have a great deal of familiarity for users, according to President Peter Stam. The Cloud product “uses all the same reports we use in the windows product.” The system will also use the SQL Anywhere database, also used in the desktop product.

The Dynamics channel is reporting that Doug Kennedy, VP of Dynamics Partners and Support Services has changed jobs. His channel position has reportedly been taken by Rich Wickham. Microsoft's PR issued a statement that the change was done "several months ago" and it was simply a title change.

VARS GET SALES-ONLY ROLE WITH EXACT ONLINE

Exact is paying its Dutch resellers a sales fee and keeping them out of post-sales activities with its Exact Online, the product that appears to be the future of the company. That model will be brought to this country when the cloud-based financial application is introduced here later this year. "They only sell it. We do the support. It’s only a sales fee," CEO Erik van der Meijden said during last week's webcast of earnings for 2012.

DELTEK NAMES KRONE CFO

Michael Krone has moved up from the position of corporate controller to become CFO of Deltek. Krone has held that job since he joined the company in August 2008. It’s a move that keeps leadership at the project accounting company one with a good deal of experience within it. Krone replaces Mike Corkery, who moved up to the CEO’s job in February.

Picking up speed in the Master VAR game, Socius has signed Abacus Information Systems as a sales affiliate. It was the second affiliate announced by the Dublin, Ohio-based reseller in February. Last week, Socius said it had enrolled Maner Costerisan Business Solutions & Technology, which is part of Lansing, Mich.-based accounting firm Maner Costerisan.

Brad Wilson, who left Microsoft, a year ago, has become CEO at Emailvision. He served seven years as worldwide general manager of the Dynamics CRM business. Wilson, who started at Microsoft in February 2005, led the product effort on a fast pace. His LinkedIn page sums it up with "Grew revenue by 40%+ CAGR for 6 ½ years, with double-digit YoY growth every quarter." Wilson takes over from founder and CEO Nick Heys and will continue to be based in London and Paris.

Exact has turned its products in North America into independent businesses. The products lines - Macola, Max, JobBoss, Longview and Lohn - each have their own P&Ls and management. "We decided to have five independent businesses. Each has a managing director and they are arms length with Exact,” CEO Erik van der Meijden in last week’s webcast regarding 2012 results.
QLIK TECH NET DROPS 57 PERCENT

Net income for Qlik Technologies, which markets the QlikView business intelligence application, fell to $3.8 million for the year ended December 31, down 57 percent from $9 million a year earlier. That came on 2012 revenue of $388.5 million, which was up 21 percent from 2011 and 26 percent on a constant currency basis. License revenue of $238.7 million was up 17 percent over the prior year; 21 percent at constant currencies
