NetSuite has announced a number of new members of its reseller ranks. The word "new" is somewhat fuzzy as at least one of the companies was already on record. But here goes with the freshest names on the company list: Altico Advisors, Baass Business Solutions, Eide Bailly, Envisage Business Solutions, MorganFranklin Consulting and Project Partners.

Go outside the San Jose Convention Center and the hotels connected to it and those attending the NetSuite SuiteWorld conference immediately got pitches. On the conference's second night, there were Acumatica personnel stage along the route with signs showing the way to that vendor's reception in another hotel. Placed near them were representatives reportedly not employees, of hometown cloud vendor, Intacct, handing out maps to the city.

SilverSun Technologies, the parent of Sage reseller SWK Technologies, had a miserable balance sheet when it ended fiscal 2012 on December 31. It had a bit more than $4,000 in cash with accounts receivable rising. With the end of the first quarter on March 31, the asset side looks far better. Cash stood at $261,000 and receivables of $1.2 million were down 21 percent from three months earlier.

Sage is rolling out its hybrid cloud products this year with Sage 200 being tested in the United Kingdom. The plan is to follow with Sage 100 in France with Sage 300 (Accpac) moving into the hybrid cloud in the United States by the end of the year. That rough schedule was outlined by the company's chief executive Guy Berruyer during the company's recent earnings webcast.

NETSUITE ROLLS OUT MFG, BASHES SAP

In a keynote laden with competition bashing, NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson said NetSuite was introducing its manufacturing application. Officially, the new cloud system, already available, provides "manufacturers robust capabilities to more efficiently manufacture, forecast, price, track and schedule products, with a focus on design and a single platform for both B2B and B2C distribution."

EPICOR ERP REVS RISE ON SOLARSOFT

Epicor's ERP revenue rose by 21 percent for the second quarter ended March 31 on the impact of revenue from its purchase of SolarSoft. But even backing out that factor, ERP sales and license revenue rose, with ERP sales up about 7 percent without SolarSoft. The loss for the recently ended period was $12.8 million, up 35.1 percent from $9.5 million in last year's corresponding period.

Demand Solution Group was honored as the WorldWide Solution Provider of the Year at NetSuite's SuiteWorld conference this week. Headed by founder Todd Fitzwater, DSG, which was founded in 2005, had a 100-percent increase in license revenue and a 200-percent rise in new business revenue over the prior year, NetSuite said.

NetSuite has appointed Peter Daffern as president of EMEA and EVP of verticals. In the EMEA part of the job, Daffern will oversee direct and channel sales and business operations. With the SuiteWorld conference kicking off in San Jose, Calif., next week, it’s probably safe to assume there will be more news about the vertical efforts (and a lot of news about defectors from competing channels).

Sales tax vendor Avalara has hired Alesia Pinney as general counsel. The appointment comes as the growing company is filling out positions. Piney was general counsel and secretary for Radiant Global Logistics for a year before joining Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based Avalara. Avalara founder and CEO Scott McFarlane described the move as part of effort in building a world class management team with an eye toward accelerating our rapid growth.”

Acumatica has named
as general manager for its Asian operations. Philippe, former head of SAP Business One for Southeast Asia, will be based in Acumatica's new Asian headquarters in Singapore. Philippe held the most recent SAP job from March 2012 through this April and before that was senior channel development manager of Southeast Asia for SAP from February 2011 through March 2012.
