Nonprofit software vendor Blackbaud has acquired Attentive.ly, a company that enables organizations to conduct social listening. Charleston, S.C.-based Blackbaud plans to more deeply integrate Attentive.ly's capabilities into the next generation version of Luminate Online, which is a marketing tool. Terms were not disclosed. Attentive.ly, based in Bethesda, Md., has been a strategic partner in Blackbaud's partner network.

Microsoft has begun the Microsoft Professional Degree program. The program offers employer-endorsed, university-caliber curriculum for professionals. The initial offering comes in data science with courseware available on edX.org, a nonprofit online learning destination founded by Harvard University and MIT.

Reseller Mibar.net has started the Mibar Accounting Alliance. Jory Weisman, VP of sales, says the impetus for the program is his firm's belief the small- and midsized accounting firms are getting increased competition from larger firms that can provide technology services to clients. "We have learned through experience a lot of firms do not have internal technology experts," Weisman says.

SilverSun Technologies has named two new executives for its SWK Technologies subsidiary. The new leaders are Diana Kyser, COO, and Andrew Nunez, chief sales officer. The hirings follow the recent departure of CEO Jeff Roth, with no immediate job, and COO Paul Frydman, who moved to rival reseller Net@Work. SilverSun CEO Mark Meller said following Roth's exit that he will serve as SWK's CEO.

Unit4, a financial software company based in the Netherlands, has acquired Prevero. Terms were not disclosed. Prevero makes corporate performance management and business intelligence software. Unit4 said Prevero will be available both as a standalone product and integration into Unit4's People Platform technology foundation.

After the latest Congressional Republican report, someone asked me what I thought of Benghazi. I said, "I really loved him 'Run for Your Life' and "Anatomy of a Murder." .. Watching late-night TV, I was interested in some of the appearances of people who later became stars. One "Twilight Zone" featured Charles Bronson and Elizabeth Montgomery. I can see it now, "In today's episode of 'Bewitched', Endora places a spell on Darrin and Samantha has to rescue him from a nuclear wasteland.

Microsoft took its biggest turn yet into the cloud as far as financial applications this week with the introduction of Dynamics 365. The product combines ERP and CRM functions—it was described by one reseller as essentially Dynamics NAV online—and will be available in the fall. The product was outline in a blog on the Microsoft website by Takeshi Numoto, corporate VP for, Microsoft Cloud + Enterprise.

Columbus, the Copenhagen, Denmark-based Dynamics reseller, has acquired Client Strategy Group of Cleveland, Ohio. CSG is a true consulting business—it does not sell Dynamics financial applications but provides services to ERP clients. That includes rescue sites, according to a spokesperson. Founded in 2003, CSG has 19 employees and will operate under the name CSG, a Columbus company.

The Sage Group has picked Jacqueline de Rojas as EVP of North Europe in what the software company described as an extended role. She is scheduled to join the company in the fall and lead its business in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Is the United Kingdom part of Europe? There seems to be some doubt. Anyway, she was previously area VP for Northern Europe for Citrix from July 2014.
