Danish reseller and developer Columbus has named Henning Gershof as VP of sales and market operations. Gershof was sales operations director for the company for the last two years. The Copenhagen, Denmark-based company says Gershof will be an important player in implementing its Columbus2020 strategy. Going back a bit, Gershof was with IBM in the Nordic region from August 199 through March 2011.

SSI Consulting has been chosen as a Partner of the Year by Unanet, which makes on-premise and cloud-based project accounting applications. The other two firms honored both serve government contractors. These are Strategic Consulting Solutions and Redstone GCI. Vienna, Va.-based SSI, which became a Unanet referral partner in 2008, is now a full-fledged reseller. SSI, led by Bill Aiton, also offers Dynamics GP and SL and Intacct.

Channel veteran Ken Lorenz has taken over responsibility for the Riva channel in North America. Lorenz, now director of partner engagement says Riva has a channel but "They have not had somebody specifically in charge." With more than 500 names in the Riva program, the job will be more about activation of existing resellers than recruiting new ones. Riva integrates most email and CRM packages via server-side synchronization. Lorenz says no VAR is likely to build a business around reselling Riva.
