Oracle plans a significant expansion for what it calls the Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit. The company plans to double the number of data centers globally to 11 from five. This includes adding a fourth North American Data Center in the Chicago, Ill., area.

Explore Consulting will take over Bi101 starting next month. Explore, a NetSuite reseller based in Bellevue, Wash., said it will leverage some key NetSuite resources from Bi101 based in Livermore, Calif. The combination, they said, will enable them to offer a broadened set of service offerings.

NetSuite Oracle has established a boundary to delineate the target markets for the company's channel and direct sales force. The threshold outlined during this week's partner kickoff at NetSuite SuiteWorld was 1,500 employees. Below that, it's the field of NetSuite and its VARs; above that the territory the Oracle direct sales force.

Except for a handful of changes, this year's SuiteWorld conference will be pretty much like the past editions. Those changes are it's in Las Vegas, Nev., not in California for the first time, starting Monday, April 24; CEO Zach Nelson is gone, and, oh yeah, Oracle acquired the company last year.

Doug Kennedy has done well with his career at NetSuite. Kennedy joined the cloud-based company in May 2015 as VP of global systems integrators. He made the cut after Oracle acquired NetSuite in July and in March became VP of business development and partner strategy for Oracle's Marketing Cloud Division.

Avalara has integrated its CertCapture application with Billtrust. CertCapture is exemption certificate software from Seattle, Wash.-based Avalara. The integration with Billtrust Quantum enables customers to manage certificates within Billtrust's invoicing system.

Accel-KKR has sold nonprofit software company Abila to Community Brands. The investment company acquired Abila in 2013 when the business was spun-off from the Sage Group. Community Brands combines Abila, Aptify and Your Membership into one company.
SUMMIT DEADLINE PUSHED—AGAIN

The early-bird deadline for Sage Summit has been extended again. The cutoff for the $199 price has been pushed to May 1 for the event, which begins on May 9 in Atlanta. The company had originally set the date at March 15 and then moved it to April 14.
