The EstesGroup, an Epicor and NetSuite reseller, has named Ben Nixon to the newly created positions of VP of enterprise technology. Nixon worked at Epicor Software from March 2000 until taking the new job.

Chris Brunelli, who worked at RedTail Solutions from August 2007 through last month, has become VP of sales and marketing for Sana Commerce. Brunelli left RedTail after that EDI software company was purchased by HighJump Software in February.

Anchorage, Alaska-based Arctic Information Technology has picked up Intacct. Arctic IT, which focuses on Tribal Enterprise, Tribal Government and Tribal Casino Management, is totally Native Owned. On the financial application side, the firm had been a Microsoft shop, carrying Dynamics GP and CRM, along with SQL Server and Office 365.

NetSuite has named the first set of resellers recruited since its acquisition by Oracle. Now called Oracle NetSuite, the California-based company has added four VARs to its base at time competitors say they are seeing dealers fleeing the software organization.

Nonprofit software vendor Blackbaud has acquired AcademicWorks, which makes scholarship management software. The acquired company's products serve higher education and K-12 institutions, foundations and grant-making institutions. Terms were not disclosed.

Channel veteran Ken Eldridge has joined outsourcer Computer Generated Solutions as VP of sales and strategic alliances. Eldridge joined the New York-based company this month. He was previously EVP of sales for Columbus A/S, a job he started in July 2015.

Macola has rolled out version 2. of its Unity Partner Program, which was originally introduced in January 2015. Macola also said it is continuing to enroll new VARS. "Since it was unveiled more than two years ago, the Macola Unity Partner Program has been the cornerstone of our channel-driven strategy," managing director Alison Forsythe said in a prepared statement.

Unit4 has acquired Assistance Software, which makes out-of-the-box PSA software for specific services industries. The product from Assistance, based in Naarden in the Netherlands, is now the Unit4 PSA Suite, adding a front-end to the offerings. Terms were not disclosed.
