SERENIC REV GROWTH, SLIGHT LOSS INCREASE

serenic logoSerenic's loss grew by 1.3 percent while its revenues rose by 17.4 percent for the first quarter ended May 31. The bottom line remained stuck in red with a loss of just under $180,000, compared to a loss of just over $177,000 a year earlier. Revenue for the most recently ended quarter was $2.95 million, up from $2.51 million in last year's corresponding quarter. Read more...

PRODWARE BUYS QURIUS IN FIRE SALE

qurius logoTwo weeks ago, Qurius, a European Dynamics reseller, was named to the Microsoft Inner Circle. This week, it agreed to sell its operations to Prodware for almost $23 million. The companies said the combination will produce the largest Dynamics partner in EMEA and had pro forma income of about $242 million for 2011.

DELTEK NET REBOUNDS; MUM ON SALE

Kevin Parker, DeltekDeltek returned to profitability on a drop in revenue for the second quarter ended June 30. But the big question, the status of the company now that it has reportedly put itself up for sale, was not touched during this week's earnings webcast. AX USERS GET AVALARA TEASER

avalara logo new.Dynamics AX customers will get a chance to use Avalara's sales-and-use tax rates for free under an agreement between that company and Microsoft.  AX customers are able to download Avalara's tax tables once for free for all company locations. However, if they want to update the rates, then they have to sign up for the Avalara service and pay.  The cloud-based AvaTax manages the sales tax process for AX users, including calculation, reporting, filing and maintenance. Avalara's integrations for Dynamics AX, GP and NAV have received the Certified for Microsoft Dynamics designation.

INTERDYN BMI ABSORBS CFO

Interdyn logoInterdyn BMI has made its second expansion move in the reselling market this year. The Minneapolis-based company has taken over Interdyn CFO Consulting, which is based in Orlando. The action follows the death of Interdyn CFO Owner Steve Lublin in May. BMI absorbed Little Rock, Ark.-based Reach Solutions about a month ago.

SAP WIDENS BIZOBJECTS CHANNEL

SAP logoSAP has expanded its PartnerEdge channel program to enable resellers to handle its BusinessObjects business intelligence software. The initiative is kicking off in China and will be rolled out in phases to other geographies. Previously, the channel interested in BI had been limited to selling Crystal Solutions. But under the new program, resellers that are sponsored by an SAP-endorsed local distributor can handle BusinessObjects.

EXACT ONLINE GOING UP MARKET

AVALARA LINKS TO QAD

avalara logo newAvalara has inked a deal that brings QAD into its wide-ranging list of software allies. In a typical arrangement, QAD is integrating Avalara's cloud-based, sales-and-use tax services into its enterprise application via the QAD AvaTax Connector. QAD serves manufacturing customers with about 60 percent of its revenue coming from outside the United States but this deal is aimed at business in North America.

NETSUITE REVS AND CHANNEL STRONG

Zach Nelson, NetSuiteNetSuite’s results for the second quarter ended June 30 following the same formula we have seen now in several periods – revenue up nicely, a slight increase in GAAP loss and a good increase in non-GAAP earnings. EXACT DROPS U.S. EXECS IN REORG

Mitch Alcon, ExactExact has parted ways with the top executives at the former Exact North America as worldwide operations have been reorganized into three units. Gone are president Mitch Alcon, who held the job from April 2008 to June 2012 and marketing VP Harry Merkin, who started in January 2008 and also left last month.
