Avectra, which makes web-based social CRM, has signed Professional Advantage, a reseller that has operations in Australia and the United States. The VAR will sell Avectra's constituent relationship management system in Australia. It was the third reseller signing announced by McLean, Va.-based Avectra in the last month.

M-hance, created via a consolidation of several British VARs, has launched its entry into the online accounting competition for SMEs in Sage's backyard. The new product, Financials to Go, is described as a hosted cloud solution that can be deployed in five days or less. Designed with Word and Outlook Templates, FTG has been built for "SMEs or for those wishing to leave their current accounting solution provider (Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite etc)", a press release states.

The two leaders of the former Hightower are back in business. Robert Nordin, president of the former Chicago-area Sage reseller, is now a partner of a Sage developer called Erpdevelopers. Former Hightower CEO Jeff Rosengarden isn't shown on the new company's website, but his email address was included as a contact in a recent mailing to customers.

CPA firm CliftonLarsonAllen has been named Partner of the Year by online vendor Intacct. In the official language, the award was given for "sales accomplishments, channel leadership, collaboration with other Intacct partners, development on the Intacct cloud financial management platform, and investment in building an Intacct-specific business practice."
QLIK TECHNOLOGIES NARROWS LOSS

Qlik Technologies, which markets the QlikView business intelligence line, reported a loss of $2 million for the second quarter ended June 30, down from $2.7 million in last year's corresponding quarter. Second quarter revenue was $85.5 million, up 16 percent over last year and up 24 percent in constant currencies.

Fishbowl's latest release will make "some of its inventory features accessible for the first time from the cloud" according to the company. Scheduled for release next week, Fishbowl Inventory 2012+, enables users to check inventory available via use of the web-based Fishbowl Pipeline on iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. The company is offering a free one-year Pipeline subscription to new customers who purchase Fishbowl Inventory this month.

EDGEWATER'S AX REVS DROP

A drop in Dynamics AX revenue contributed to a 23.4-percent decline in software and maintenance income at Edgewater Technology for the second quarter ended June 30. Revenue in that category fell to $3.6 million in the most recently ended quarter, down from $4.7 million a year ago.

SERENIC REV GROWTH, SLIGHT LOSS INCREASE

Serenic's loss grew by 1.3 percent while its revenues rose by 17.4 percent for the first quarter ended May 31. The bottom line remained stuck in red with a loss of just under $180,000, compared to a loss of just over $177,000 a year earlier. Revenue for the most recently ended quarter was $2.95 million, up from $2.51 million in last year's corresponding quarter.

PRODWARE BUYS QURIUS IN FIRE SALE

Two weeks ago, Qurius, a European Dynamics reseller, was named to the Microsoft Inner Circle. This week, it agreed to sell its operations to Prodware for almost $23 million. The companies said the combination will produce the largest Dynamics partner in EMEA and had pro forma income of about $242 million for 2011.
