That might even be more of a signal about the spread of social media than this week's announcement by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

But the revenue side, aided by the purchase of assets of the former Hightower, was bright, rising to $13.2 million, a 25.3-percent increase from $10.5 million for 2011.

Nonprofit software Serenic has added two American resellers to its channel program. The company has signed Integrated Computer Systems and Shepard & Associates. Headquartered in Redmond, Wash., ICS has experience with nonprofits and governmental entities and has been a Dynamics VAR since 1997. Based in Overland Park, Kan., Shepard is said to have 350 customers in the Midwest and has also been a Dynamics reseller since 1997.
