DYNAMICS, CLOUD REVS UP 7 PERCENT

Amy Hood, MicrosoftMicrosoft has reshaped its categories for revenue for the year ended June 30. As it reported results for fiscal 2017, the software said "Dynamics products and cloud services revenue" increase 7 percent, 9 percent in constant currency. That's a bit different than saying Dynamics revenue rose that much isn't it?

INNER CIRCLE 2017: NOT SO BIG?

But the Inner Circle for 2017 seemed less concentrated in the largest VAR world than we have seen in sometime. Not that mom and pops are making the list—Crestwood Associates made the cut for the first time with $13.9 million in revenue and was the smallest.

FRESHBOOKS RECIVES $43M

Accounting software vendor FreshBooks has received $43 million in Series B Funding. The cloud company says it will use the funds to support North American growth and to development of its latest product, launched in September.

SYSPRO DEBUTS CHATBOT

SysproSyspro has jumped on the chatbot bandwagon with the introduction of Ken. The manufacturing software publisher says Ken can handle more than 150 skill sets for routine tasks such as checking stock availability, pricing configured products, checking account balances and order statuses.

INFOR LAUNCHES AI PLATFORM

Charles Phillips, InforAdd another name to the "talk to your software" realm as Infor has introduced Coleman an artificial intelligence platform for Infor CloudSuite applications. Coleman follows the push by SAP for its Leonardo platform,  a broad Internet of Things system that also has voice response and Sage's Pegg chatbot.

CLOUD BOOSTS PRODWARE HALF

Prodware GroupFrench Sage and Dynamics reseller the Prodware Group saw an acceleration of revenue growth in the second quarter ended June 30. The company ended the half with about $99.4 million as SaaS sales helped pushed the increase in revenue to 3.1 percent over last year's comparable half.

NETSUITE SIGNS FOUR VARS

Paul Doucet, Cherry BekaertOracle NetSuite this week announced the signing of four VARs. What was notable was the group included accounting firm Cherry Bekaert, which kicked off an ERP consulting practice as it took on the cloud product. It’s a sign that multi-office accounting firms continue to enter (or re-enter) the technology space.
