SOVOS HIRES ENTERPRISE TAX GM

Fritz McCormick, SovosIndirect tax specialist Sovos has hired Fritz McCormick to the new role of general manager, enterprise for sales tax. McCormick will head the enterprise effort for Sovos North America, which says is reflecting "a new wave of demand for modern tax compliance and reporting software solutions, including the Sovos Intelligent Compliance Cloud."

Rod Drury, XeroXero says it has hit 253,3000 subscribers in the United Kingdom as of September 30. September 30 is the end of the first half for the New Zealand-based cloud company so more information should arrive over the next three weeks.

ASHLEY TO LEAD ACUMATICA CHANNEL

Geoff Ashley, Acumatica Channel veteran Geoff Ashley has been named to lead Acumatica's reseller program. Ashley, who held important channel positions at SAP and SugarCRM, takes over from Ali Jani who had been doing double duty as the cloud company's VP of partner strategy, product management, and services.

EPICOR CEO COWAN RETIRING

Joseph Cowen, EpicorJoseph Cowan, CEO of Epicor, will retire from the job he has held since October 2013 at the end of this month. Cowan will be replaced by Stephen Murphy, former president of OpenText. The surprise is how long Cowan has lasted in the top job with the software company.

BLACKBAUD NAMES EUROPE HEAD

Lianne McGrory, Blackbaud Blackbaud has named Lianne McGrory as managing director of Blackbaud Europe. McGrory, who started with the company in 2004, working at locations in Glasgow, Scotland, and Dublin, Ireland. She moved to Sydney Australia in 2010 where she managed the sales and professional services business for Blackbaud Pacific.

AVIDEXCHANGE TO EXPAND

Michael Praeger, AvidXchange AvidXchange, which make payment products, has said it will expand its Utah operations. The Charlotte, N.C.-based company says it will add 218 jobs at its Salt Lake City office. AvidXchange entered Utah with its 2015 purchase of Piracle.

Rusty Turley, MIP Co-founderHans E. "Rusty" Turley Jr.,  a co-founder of the former Micro Information Products, died on September 24. Turley co-founded MIP in 1982 and sold the company to the Sage Group in 2001.
