Sage One, the company's online product for very small businesses, has gone into a limited beta test in the United States. (And remind me to read stuff on my own LinkedIn group more carefully since this was posted there in mid January.) The information was posted by product manager Mike Savory.

Deltek plans a big year of product introductions with both its Vision and Maconomy lines to be made available in cloud versions this year. The broad outlines of the plan were discussed during this week's fourth quarter earnings conference call by CEO Kevin Parker.

SAP will hit the market in March with versions of its Hana in-memory database technology for small and medium-sized enterprises. The company outlined the move downstream in a webcast this week. The products include Analytics Powered by Hana for SAP Business One. (I'd hate to have a title on my business card for, say, product manager for Analytics ...)

A bankruptcy court has blocked the effort of CDC Software to sell two subsidiaries, Ross Systems and Tradebeam. The court granted a motion for preliminary injunction by CDC Corp., which is in Chapter 11, on the initiative of its chief restructuring officer, Marc Watson after the CDC Software agree to sell the operations to Marlin Equity Partners/Marlin Management Company, for $60 million.

Sage North America is starting a program to offer commissions on referrals of potential purchasers of Sage ERP X3. Resellers can receive 20-percent commission on new license sales of X3 if a deal closes within six months of a referral and meets minimum referral requirements.

Infor has said it plans to grow its channel. And this week, LinkedIn users may have noticed that the company is advertising on the social media site under the headline “Channel partners required.” That phrase links to an Infor web page that proclaims “Infor Partner Network: Business Beyond Boundaries.”

Blackbaud is testing an application that can be used to provide financial analysis by nonprofit organizations. The Charleston, S.C.-based nonprofit vendor has an early adopter program under way for the offering that would be sold as an add-on to applications such as the Financial Edge.

Xero says that revenue for the year ending March 31 will be double the roughly $7.7 million reported in fiscal 2011. Last year’s figure is calculated at the current exchange rate for the New Zealand dollar.

DELTEK INTROS SAAS FOR GOVCON

Deltek has introduced Deltek First, a SaaS-based ERP application for the project life-cycle needs of small to mid-sized organizations. This is a cloud-based package for the government contracting business. The two flavors include Deltek First Essentials, which provides accounting; job cost and project manager reporting; and timekeeping. It also interfaces with payroll services. Deltek First Essentials Plus adds budgeting and planning; ad-hoc reporting; and business intelligence and analytics. There is also access to the company’s expense management application.
