EXACT M'FACTURING REVS RISE

Erik van der Meijden, ExactExact's revenue from manufacturing products in the United States made a notable move up in the third quarter ended September 30. These packages, reported under the company's Specialized Solutions division, rose about $14.9 million for the most recently ended period, up 7.3 percent over the prior year. Specialized Solutions include Max, JobBoss and Macola. During the last year, the company divested two of the unit's products, Longview.

DYNAMICS CRM LINKS TO CORTANA

MicrosoftThe fact that Dynamics CRM 2015 will integrate with the Cortana personal assistant on Windows Phone 8.1 might be the sexiest part of new product features. But the industry templates announced this week at Microsoft's Convergence 2014 Europe conference are probably much more important. Microsoft says it will add templates for financial services, retail, public sector, manufacturing and professional service, resulting in 27 available by year end.

COLUMBUS U.S REVS OFF DOUBLE DIGITS

 Thomas Honoré, ColumbusConsulting and reselling firm Columbus says it is "executing a recovery plan" for its operations in the United States. That follows a 21.3-percent decline of sales here, reported in the company's financial results for the third quarter ended September 30. Columbus, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, described the efforts in this country as involving a "reorganization of their senior management structure, and a strengthening of the sales management and the sales team."

MICROTASK GETS ACCOUNTMATE AWARD

Luis Leon, Microtask ConsultingReseller Microtask Consulting took home the President's Award for Outstanding Performance for 2014 at AccountMate's recent reseller conference. The Teaneck, N.J.-based company also received the company's International Partnership Award. Microtask has been led since August 1987 by managing partner Luis Leon. Houston, Texas-based Koenig Software Systems, led by Ken Koenig, was given the Director of Sales Award.

TAXES CUT EDGEWATER NET

Shirley Singleton, Edgewater TechnologyEdgewater Technology saw its net income for the third quarter ended September 30 drop by 81.6 percent from a year ago on a steep rise in taxes. The company had a tax provision of $714,000 for the most recently ended period, up from $74,000 a year earlier. As a result, net income dropped to $976,000, down from $1.8 million in last year's third quarter. Revenue for the company, which owns Dynamics VAR Fullscope, hit $28.7 million, an increase of 13.1 percent from $25.4 million in last year's corresponding period.

QLIK COSTS TURN NET RED

Lars Björk, Qlik TechnologyIncreased spending pushed Qlik Technology, which markets analytical software, to a loss. The company reported red ink of $14.4 million for the third quarter ended September 30, a swing from earnings of just under $3 million a year ago. Revenue for the most recently ended period was $131.3 million, an increase of 26 percent from $104.1 million. However, operating expenses for the quarter hit $121.9 million, a rise of 31.7 percent from $92.6 million a year ago.

SAGE ONE MOBILE DEBUTS

Nick Longden, Sage U.K.A mobile app for Sage One has been released by Sage North America. Designed for users of the Sage One Accounting Standard edition, the app enables users to create and send invoices and record payments. It is available for iPhone users in the United States with versions for other platforms coming soon. Sage One Accounting Standard is priced at $14 per month; Sage One Invoicing is $9 per month with the mobile app available to those users at no cost. Sage gets credit for creativity on broken links.

TAX DROP AIDS BLACKBAUD NET

Michael Gianoni, BlackbaudBlackbaud capitalized on a sharp drop in taxes to hike spending and still achieve a 10.5-percent increase in earnings for the third quarter ended September 30. The company reported earnings of $10.4 million, up from $9.4 million in last year's corresponding period. Revenue for the most recently ended quarter was $144.7 million, an increase of 7.3 percent from $127.9 million a year ago. CEO Michael Gianoni was pleased with sales.

SIX S TOP EPICOR RESELLER

sixs_logoSix S Partners has been name Americas "Partner of the Year" by Epicor Software. The Waterloo, Canada-based company was also honored for having the most new business transactions. Six S carries Epicor 9, and although that product has been effective in the accounting end, Six S and the other companies are primarily in manufacturing. Most are exclusive to Epicor in their ERP lines.
