Sage this week introduced its new partner programs with presentations to its resellers. The company said it is creating a Global Partner Program for Sage One, Live, Impact and X3 and for all ISVs. And overall, the company said it is simplifying its offering by moving both accounting software and construction and real estate resellers to plans that span products, with all Sage revenue applying to tiers.
NETSUITE EXPANDS IN EUROPE

NetSuite has opened two new data centers in Europe, one in Dublin, Ireland, and the other in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The cloud software company said it had also selected Capgemini as its sole distributor in France. NetSuite said the two data centers will be completely powered by renewable energy and are expected to be operating by the end of the year. NetSuite said Capgemini would be its partner of choice in France.

Australian software vendor Reckon has spelled out the development path for Reckon One, its cloud-based accounting package. Although Reckon accounting software is not sold in the United States, it is moving Reckon One into the United Kingdom and does sell its Virtual Cabinet document management system in this country. So it's always worth a look. The development map was spelled out recently at its partner and customer conference in Melbourne Australia.

Exact has named Christian Polo Orlellana to lead its sales and channel development in Latin America. The more intriguing thing was that in the press release announcing the promotion, Alison Forsythe, managing director of Exact Macola, was quoted as managing director of Exact Americas, a unit name that has not been in the press for a while. In its efforts to grow its channel, Exact Macola saw its initial success in Latin America, where it signed Sistemas & Technologia, LF Consulting Colombia, and LF Consulting, which is based in Venezuela in the last year or so.
KENSIUM'S ACUMATICA UNIT JOINS PC BENNETT

The Acumatica division of Kensium Solutions has folded into PC Bennett. The deal means that as an exclusive Acumatica reseller, the merger has produced "the biggest Acumatica exclusive partner with the most Acumatica Certified professionals," says CEO Patricia Bennett. Besides its reselling business, PC Bennett, based in the Seattle, Wash., area, will have a Partner Services division to help other Acumatica resellers with software development.

Epicor Software has hired Sabby Gill as EVP with responsibility for operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific. He oversees sales, professional services and field marketing and is based at the Company's regional headquarters for EMEA in the United Kingdom. He reports to Epicor CEO Joseph Cowan. Gill was at International Gaming Technology from August 2011 until taking the new position.
STRATEGIES GROUP TAKES ON D+C

Long-time construction reseller, the Strategies Group, has taken on the Dexter+Cheney construction software line. To pave the way for the move, it sold its Sage business to United Solutions and transferred the staff from the practice to United. "We will be exclusively focusing on the Dexter + Chaney product line moving forward," says Randy Collins, who has been president of Atlanta, Ga.-based Strategies Group since 1999. The VAR had sold the Sage construction software line for more than 20 years.
CSC MAKES OFFER FOR UXC

IT giant CSC has offered to buy Australian technology company UXC. The offer is for $1.28 per share for UXC, whose UXC Eclipse is its Dynamics reselling arm. That would appear to be about $305 million in cash for all shares, based on the shares outstanding when the UXC year ended on June 30. CSC had $11.7 billion in revenue for the year ended July 3 and UXC Eclipse had $125 million in revenue for its last full year, so it would be a bit swallowed up.
XERO TOPS 100K U.K. SUBSCRIBERS

New Zealand-based Xero says it now has 100,000 subscribers for its cloud-based accounting software in the United Kingdom. In a prepared statement, CEO Rod Drury said this week the company had 30,000 subscribers in that country two years ago.
The most recent global figure was 540,000, a number released this summer. In August, Xero said it had 250,000 subscribers in Australia and 150,000 in New Zealand.
