With the back drop of the National Retail Federation Annual Convention & Expo held this week in New York, Microsoft has introduced Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail, which it described as an end-to-end package for midsize specialty retailers. The application combines features from LS AX Retail and LS POS.NET purchased from LS Retail EHF and Retail Chain Manager for Microsoft Dynamics AX acquired from To-Increase, a subsidiary of Columbus IT Partner. TECTURA WENT AFTER ADDITIONAL FUNDING

Tectura, the international Dynamics reseller based in Redwood City, Calif., hiked the amount of funding it sought to raise in the second half of 2009 from $10 million, first anticipated in June, to $17.3 million raised in December. CATCHING UP ON VERSATA, SAP

While this newsletter was revving up in August a lawsuit was decided that involved SAP and Versata, which has a diverse portfolio that includes specialized ERP products. A jury awarded Versata $139 million regarding its allegations of patent infringement by SAP which Versata said used its patents regarding the way items are priced and systems configured for products with multiple levels.
