EPICOR SEES SINGLE-DIGIT REV GROWTH

Epicor logoEpicor Software says the company expects to report revenue of $866 million to $870 million, for the year ended September 30, an increase of 2 percent to 3 percent over the $847 million in pro forma revenue for fiscal 2011. Adjusted EBITDA is forecast to reach $220 million to $22 million over pro forma EBITDA $194 million. Read more...

XERO DOUBLES REVS, USERS

xero logoOnline accounting software vendor Xero reported that the number of customers and worldwide revenue doubled for the first half ended September 30. The numbers are still small in both categories and the New Zealand-based company lumped the number of users in the United States in a category that included the entire world except Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. SAP TALKS; MICROSOFT STAYS MUM

SAP has issued invitations for conference calls and interviews, at least three in the last four weeks. And it's been notable that SAP has been reaching  out to present its case to the press with increasing frequency over the last few months. Microsoft does not. In fact, it's been ages, since Microsoft Business Solutions set up interviews about products or programs outside of its major conferences. Read more...

INTERDYN ADDS KIANOFF, LBMC

Lisa Kianoff, L. Kianoff & AssociatesThe Interdyn Group, historically a consortium of Dynamics VARs, has added two new members. Those are L. Kianoff & Associates of Birmingham, Ala., and LMBC Technologies of Nashville, Tenn. Like most members of the group, these  businesses are among Bob Scott's Top 100 VARs. LBMC Technologies, a company of CPA firm Lattimore Black Morgan and Cain, was No. 37 on the list in 2011 with $10.7 million in revenue and Kianoff, owned by Lisa Kianoff, was No. 79 with $4.65 million.

SAP SEES BI VARS MOVING UPSTREAM

John Wilkinson , SAPSAP is seeing members of its channel for business intelligence products that are ready to serve companies with more than $500 million in annual revenue. And this week's briefing on SAP's channel program was primarily not for the small fry. SAP says it has experienced 28-percent compounded annual growth from channel revenue and sees a good opportunity to beat its goal of getting 40 percent of its American revenue coming from the channel by 2015. SOCIUS SIGNS SEVENTH AFFILIATE

Soicus logoSocius, one of three Microsoft Master VARs in the United States, has signed its seventh Sales Affiliate. The new partner is the Dynamics SL practice of IT Evolution Management (formerly KB Technologies, although the website still operates under that name.) IT Evolution is also an ISV and its website features five SL products. These include SL Auditor, a SOX compliance tool for that particular line.

DELTEK GOES PRIVATE AS DEAL CLOSES

Kevin Parker, DeltekDeltek has gone private as a $1.1-billion acquisition by Thoma Bravo has been completed. The private equity firm said Deltek becomes its twenty-fourth platform company in software and technology. The deal was for $13 a share and the Deltek management stays in place. Earlier, Deltek said that Thomas Bravo has a history of buying companies because it likes the management and strategy and tends not to make changes. Read more...

SAGE GROUP NAMES CMO

Amanda Jobbins, SageThe Sage Group has hired a chief marketing officer, a job that I don't believe has previously existed. And the selection of former Cisco executive Amanda Jobbins for the worldwide role is another step towards the pledge by chief executive Guy Berruyer that the company is going to get more centralized. A native of the United Kingdom, Jobbins is returning home to take the job on November 5.

ACUMATICA ADDED 21 VARS IN 3Q

Acumatica logoAcumatica reports it added 21 new resellers to its channel during the third quarter. There are not a lot of extremely well-known names in the roster. Among the best known are MaxQ Technologies, which had been a Solomon reseller and ISV of note years ago, and Altara, which is a much different company than it was in the prior decade when it was a well-known Dynamics VAR. SWK CLOSES $650K X3 DEAL

SWK Technologies LogoSWK Technologies has closed a more than $650,000 deal for Sage's X3 package. The win was announced by SilverSun Technologies, parent of the Livingston, N.J.-based Sage reseller. The deal was described as involving software and consulting services and the customer was described as a specialty chemical distributor headquartered in the Midwest.
