A year ago, the board of director's of European Dynamics VAR Norriq fired CEO Bo Martinsen. This month, a group of former minority investors, including Martinsen, purchased all stock in the Norriq Group and installed Martinsen as the new CEO with Klaus Rasmussen as the new chairman, replacing retiring chairman, Peter Thiell.

Deltek has introduced Vision 7, the latest version of its financial application for architecture and engineering firms. The launch was made at the company's Insight user conference in Nashville this week. Vision 7 is described a providing greater visibility into clients, resources, projects, financials at A&E firms and as making information more accessible to decision makers.

Microsoft has acquired MarketingPilot, a marketing tool that has become part of the Dynamics CRM operation. A blog by Bob Stutz, corporate VP for Dynamics CRM, describes the acquired operation as one that "provides Integrated Marketing Management solutions that allow organizations to better understand their customers, manage and streamline marketing operations and create automated and measurable multi-channel marketing campaigns".

AVALARA HIRES SSTGB'S PETERSON

Avalara has named Scott Peterson, executive director of the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board, as director of government affairs. Peterson had been involved with that body since its inception in 2000. It was formed to simplify state sales tax collection. He takes on his new duties on November 12.

Sage North America has dismissed its channel sales force for its fixed assets products. The sales representatives and managers are losing their jobs this week as Sage combines the channel management with the ERP businesses and its regional account managers. According to VARs, those losing their jobs included individuals with decades of experience at Sage.

SBS INKS FOUR MORE AFFILIATES

The SBS Group tacked on five more Sales Affiliates as the Woodbridge, N.J.-based Master VAR remained on a rapid pace to grow its network. And this follows on its bringing in five affiliates at the end of September. The new enlistees are ApexTech of Arlington, Va.; Pro Systems of Forest Lakes, Minn.; BSP of Southfield, Mich.; and CB Technologies of Mississippi.

Epicor Software says the company expects to report revenue of $866 million to $870 million, for the year ended September 30, an increase of 2 percent to 3 percent over the $847 million in pro forma revenue for fiscal 2011. Adjusted EBITDA is forecast to reach $220 million to $22 million over pro forma EBITDA $194 million.

XERO DOUBLES REVS, USERS

Online accounting software vendor Xero reported that the number of customers and worldwide revenue doubled for the first half ended September 30. The numbers are still small in both categories and the New Zealand-based company lumped the number of users in the United States in a category that included the entire world except Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

The Interdyn Group, historically a consortium of Dynamics VARs, has added two new members. Those are L. Kianoff & Associates of Birmingham, Ala., and LMBC Technologies of Nashville, Tenn. Like most members of the group, these businesses are among Bob Scott's Top 100 VARs. LBMC Technologies, a company of CPA firm Lattimore Black Morgan and Cain, was No. 37 on the list in 2011 with $10.7 million in revenue and Kianoff, owned by Lisa Kianoff, was No. 79 with $4.65 million.
