BLACKBAUD BUYING CONVIO

Marc Chardon, BlackbaudNonprofit specialist Blackbaud is acquiring Convio, which makes Internet-based applications for nonprofit organizations. The deal is being accomplished as a merger with Blackbaud offering $16 per share for Austin, Texas-based Convio, giving it a value of about $275 million.

SAGE’S X3 GETS APPROVED FOR ORACLE

sage x3 headerSage ERP X3 has achieved Oracle Database Ready status the Oracle Partner Network. That means that the product has been fully tested and that Sage supports X3 on Oracle Database 11g Release 2. Support for that database also allows Sage to run its application database on the Oracle Database Application. What this shows is what we’ve heard for a longtime about X3, that it has some horsepower for competing upmarket. The importance of the database working on the appliance is that it means a substantial saving of time and expense in manual configuration, the company said.

EPICOR FIRST QUARTER REVS RISE

epicor logoEpicor Software has reported that it expects revenue for the first quarter ended December 31 would range from $218 million to $219 million, a 4- to 5 -percent increase year over year. EPICOR EXECS HAD BIG 2011 PAYDAY

Pevez Qureshi, EpicorFour top Epicor Software executives had sharply higher compensation in 2011 as the result of the merger of Epicor and Activant. The execs got paid for vested options and were given the difference between the exercise price of cancelled options and the $7.08 per share merger price.
