CDC SOFTWARE, CONSONA MERGE

John Clough, ApteanCDC Software and Consona, which provide specialized financial software, have merged to form Aptean. The deal brings together some well-known products, CDC's Ross ERP and Consona's Made2Manage. Officially, Aptean has more than 9,000 customers and 1,500 employees. CDC also brought its Pivotal CRM and Consona its Compiere open source ERP to the wedding. Read more...

DSD TAKES SAGE 100 GOLD HONORS

Doug Deane, DSD SolutionsDSD Solutions, a Sage reseller and developer, was named the Partner of the Year for 2011 for the Sage 100 line among the Gold Developers for Sage North America. Sage 100 was formerly known as MAS 90 and 200 and we can say FKA for all the product lines given the wide rebranding of the Sage line.

EUROPEAN WOES DENT EPICOR RESULTS

Pevez Qureshi, EpicorEconomic woes in Europe dampened revenue growth at Epicor for the third quarter ended June 30. Pro forma revenue for the period was $218.7 million, up 1.7 percent for last year's corresponding period. ERP revenue of $129.5 million was "down slightly," the company said in this week's earnings conference call. Read more...

SWK PARENT RESULTS MIXED

swk technologies logoAided by the purchase of Hightower's assets, SilverSun Technologies turned in a quarter that can be described as mixed. Although it lost $334,031 for the second quarter ended June 30, it had stock-based compensation expense of $2.3 million for the grant of options to employees of SWK Technologies, its only operations. EPICOR LINKS WITH TOUR DE FORCE

PSI GETS SECOND SAGE EAGLE AWARD

Reseller Professional Software has received the Sage Eagle Award for the second straight year. Based in Wichita,  Kan., the firm received the honor for delivering high levels of customer experience based on renewal rates and net promoter scores. PSI carries Sage 100 and JobOps.

SAGE 500: FIVE YEARS TO GO?

SHimanshu Palsule, Sage age 500 has a limited life span as Sage committed to supporting the product for at least five years. I think the company said "at least five years"  at the Sage Summit conference going on this week in Nashville Tenn. But whatever time Sage 500 has left, the  product will not make the move to the next platform, such as the Web.
