M&A BOOSTS SALESFORCE RESULTS

The purchase of Tableau in August and MuleSoft in May helped Salesforce.co, to a 33-percent increase in revenue for the third quarter ended November 30. But the company also hiked spending by 37 percent, including a 60.1-percent rise in spending for R&D, to end up with a loss for the most recently ended period.

The cloud boom continues at Oracle reported NetSuite revenue for the first quarter ended November 30 were 29 percent higher than in the year-ago quarter. NetSuite and Fusion ERP were bright spots in a flat quarter that disappointed Wall Street.
