EXACT SAYS LICENSE REVS DOWN

exact logoLicense revenue for the September quarter dropped by 17.2 percent over the prior year, according to a preliminary statement issued by Exact Software.  However, Exact said that was a lot better than the first half when the same source of income dropped by 30.4 percent over the first half of 2008.

THINKING ABOUT INTUIT'S COURSE

david batchelderThe last issue noted that Intuit had agreed to nominate David Batchelder, a partner and co-founder of Relational Investors, to replace former CEO Stephen Bennett, who decided not to stand for election for a seat on Intuit’s board of directors. As a result, Intuit avoided a proxy fight with Relational withdrawing its three-person slate of nominees and agreeing to a stock standstill provision.

THE WINDOWS 7.0 LAUNCH

It was probably easier to miss the local weather forecast than Microsoft's launch yesterday of its Windows 7.0 operating system. My AOL account got an email from Hewlett-Packard announcing it. Even Apple was ready with television advertisements that reminded everyone that Microsoft has promised with each new version Windows that it won't repeat the mistakes of the prior version.

NETSUITE DOUBLES PHILIPPINES STAFF

PhilippinesNetSuite has doubled the size of  its operations in Manila, Philippines, which the comany said is a key site for global technical support, services and back-office operations, to include product development and quality assurance capabilities. Nearly 300 are employed in the office.

CDC SAYS LICENSE REVENUE WILL MEET STREET ESTIMATE

TAMLIN SCORES ON ACCOUNTMATE AWARDS

Tamlin Software Developers took home two of four national awards, along with one regional award handed out at this week's Synergy 2009, AccountMate's annual reseller conference.
