EPICOR SEES SAAS GROWTH AHEAD

Epicor logoEpicor expects sales of its Epicor Manufacturing Express Edition, the cloud version of Epicor 9, are going to expand significantly over the next two years. Speaking this week at the 1st Annual Signal Hill Technology Conference, CEO George Klaus said there were about 150,000 small and medium manufacturers “that we can sell our SaaS solution into.” The company had about 40 customers last year following the product's introduction and Klaus predicted user growth will boom.

THE AGING OF DYNAMICS GP

Comments this year by NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson that Dynamics GP had disappeared from his company’s view as a competitor got me thinking that maybe the product is showing its age. A talk with a friend whose company uses GP produced an earful. He complained that the payroll provided for only vacation and holidays – for personal days the company had to buy Advanced Payroll, and generally, that the need to buy additional functions was pain and that Microsoft had been pumping out upgrades with little change in functionality. TECTURA SELLS GERMAN UNIT

Tectura, which seems to be reshaping itself, has sold its 51-percent interest in Tectura Berlin to Uwe Bergmann. Tectura Berlin also owns a majority of Tectura Dresden and the operations are expected to adopt new names by the end of May. Terms were not released. This follows on the departure of founder and former CEO Terry Petrzelka early this year. His position was filled by Duane Bell, previously CFO. Read more...

SERENIC SIGNS OVERSEAS VARS

Nonprofit vendor Serenic is continuing to build its international channel. It hadn’t issued a press release about a new VAR since May last year when it added the Touchstone Group in the United Kingdom. But it has already made two such announcements in 2011 with the enlistment of another U.K. dealer Probitas, and Cherry-T in the Netherlands. Read more...

SALESLOGIX GETS MOBILE CONNECTION

Sage North America is giving customers of SalesLogix v.7.5.3 the ability to utilize mobile devices including the iPhone, IPad, Android and BlackBerry Torch for CRM functions. The Sage product, SalesLogix Mobile, also supports HTML5/CSS3-compliant browsers such as Safari, Google Chrome, Opera and Firefox and is available at no charge. SalesLogix Mobile works with the on-premise application and SalesLogix cloud systems and interacts with each device’s navigation, mapping, dialing and email functions. It operates online and offline and updates automatically over the air.

MICROSOFT: DYNAMICS AX NOT FAVORED

Dynamics AX logoThe market’s belief that Dynamics AX is the product of the future is strong enough that Microsoft has responded that it loves all four Dynamics products. The title of a YouTub post says it all: “Is Microsoft Dynamics AX the Favorite Child?” An interview with Guy Weismantel, Microsoft’s director of ERP marketing has been posted on YouTube “dispelling the myth” as it was phrased in an introductory post on the Dynamics Community website

NETSUITE ENHANCES VAR PROGRAM

NetSuite is waiving a $5,000 first-year fee for new VARs as the online application vendor enhances a channel program that it rolled out last year. Craig West, VP of channel sales, said that is one of the benefits in SuiteStart, a program designed to get resellers up and running quickly after they enlist in the NetSuite channel. "It’s another step to knocking down barriers for new partners and shorten time to productivity," West said. Read more...

INTACCT NABS AKTION

Cloud vendor Intacct has nabbed Aktion Associates, a Maumee, Ohio-based reseller and an expanding company whose product line has grown over the last two years. It added Sage Timberline and MasterBuilder, which it picked up with last year’s purchase of the CIS Consulting Group. Aktion also picked up Deltek Vision when Taylor Macdonald, now with Intacct, was recruiting for that vendor. Read more...

ACCELLOS TO DEBUT SUITE

Accellos plans to introduce a range of products at Microsoft Dynamics Convergence 2011 in Atlanta. The applications getting a view include release 2.2 of the Accellos One Workspace composite application framework.
