Avalara continues to develop links to financial applications and Open Systems has become the latest vendor for whom the sales-and-use tax vendor has developed an integration with its AvaTax product. Avalara is starting with a link to Open System’s Traverse Accounting line and will follow with a connection to the company’s Open Systems Accounting Software. As with all the links developed for AvaTax, this means the sales-and-use tax engine can scour the universe for rate changes and handle calculations.

Tribridge, the expanding Dynamics reseller based in Tampa, Fla., has acquired privately-held Xcelligent, an Orlando, Fla., company that utilizes Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint to enhance project management. Terms were not disclosed. According to the announcement, Xcelligent has development expertise in process mapping and workflow, performance management and analytics for project-driven companies. Partners Josh Portnoy and Tommy Simon, along with the rest of the acquired company’s staff have joined Tribridge. Portnoy is now Project Server Practice Manager role, while Simon has joined the sales organization as a business development manager.
