Sage’s recent trading update for the third quarter ended June 30 gives some indication of why there is a push on X3. During the earnings webcast last month, CFO Jonathan Howell said there had been “some under-performance” in X-3 licenses and services in both France and the United States.

Sage veteran Drew Macbeth has joined Net at Work as its NetSuite practice director. Although the New York, N.Y.-based reseller announced his hiring this week, Macbeth’s LinkedIn profile shows he joined the firm in May.

Microsoft has purchased Citus Data, whose offering is anopen source extension to PostgreSQL. Microsoft says Citus transforms PostgreSQL into a distributed database and that the deal is another step in its commitment to Azure as an open platform.
