NETSUITE ENHANCES OPENAIR

NetSuite has added services resource planning and professional service automation features to its OpenAir platform. The additions include Expense Reporting for iPhone, a PSA app that enables users to capture an image of an expense receipt, attach it to a report and submit it. Read more...

SUGAR 6.3 RELEASED

sugarcrm_logoSugarCRM has introduced Sugar 6.3, which the company termed a major upgrade to its Community Edition. The software provides support for deeper integration with third-party applications with the ability to integrate data from more sources. The new platform also offers an upgraded Ajax user interface Sugar 6.3 has an enhanced Import Wizard and the ability to import Google contacts. An improved quick edit feature in ListViews, subpanels and reports also enables users to do more inline editing. SUB REVS LIFT BLACKBAUD

Marc ChardonThe switch from license fees to subscription revenue continued at nonprofit specialist Blackbaud during the third quarter ended September 30.  That came as the company reported a 14.5-percent increase in net income on a 15-percent rise in revenue. The bottom line was $9.8 million, up from $8.5 million in net income a year earlier while revenue rose to $95.5 million for the most recently ended period, up from $83.2 million. Read more...

MAS 90 ONLINE DUE THIS MONTH

Erik KaasSage North America is scheduled to release MAS 90 Online on November 22.  The company’s venture into the cloud with MAS, hosted by Sage, has a base price of $169 per month. That provides access to core modules, the latest version of MAS 90, Business Care support and backup services and disaster recovery. The hosted version should open up a new user group to resellers, according to Erik Kaas, senior director of product marketing. “It lets them to go after a segment of the market they don’t go after, less than five users,” he said. SWK PARENT GETS CREDIT LINE

After cleaning up a balance sheet that was cluttered with debentures and an inflated stock base, SilverSun Technologies, formerly known as Trey Resources, has nailed down a $750,000 revolving credit line. The company, parent to Sage reseller SWK Technologies, picked up the credit line from a commercial lender late last month. Funds will be utilized for working capital and debt repayment. SilverSun will pay an interest rate of prime plus 2.75 percent annually. The SEC filing on this noted that CEO Mark Meller personal guaranteed payment. Read more...

EXACT RESULTS SLUGGISH

exact new logoExact, the parent of the Macola and Progression lines, reported flat EBIDTA on a .6 percent rise in revenue for the third quarter ended September 30. Revenue growth in the Americas and other regions was countered by a decline in sales in the Benelux countries.  EBIDTA was steady at $15.7 million on revenue of $71 million.  Results were reported on a like-for-like basis, essentially continuing operations. Results are converted from euros.

SERENIC REBOUNDS IN SECOND QUARTER

serenic logoNonprofit software vendor Serenic has rebounded from a loss and posted a 2.7 percent year-over-year revenue gain for its second quarter ended August 31. The company earned $57,015 for the most recently ended period, compared to a loss of $7,198 a year ago. Revenue for the second quarter was just over $3 million, compared to $2.9 million in last year's corresponding period.

SAGE CALL LEAVES VARS PUZZLED

Pascal HouillonAn all-hands call last week with Pascal Houillon, CEO of Sage North America, left the channel puzzled about its purpose. The call lasted 15 minutes and the primary reaction is that it ended abruptly and the content did not justify roping in members of the Sage world in this country to hear it. Wayne Schulz of Schulz Consulting, who published his notes on his blog and on LinkedIn, said that Houillon hinted at a new pricing model to be introduced in the next 12 months. "It was a really odd 15-minute call that had been billed as a way for him to re-connect with the partners and have a discussion," Schulz said.  Read more...
