XERO JOBS BOOM, MORE PLANNED

Cloud accounting vendor Xero has added 128 jobs this calendar year, bringing the number of employees to 187. That is up 124 percent so far and the New Zealand-based vendor plans to add another 100 before April. That signals the company's intention to keep growing at a rapid clip.

Blackbaud has hired Joe Moye as president of its Enterprise Customer Business Unit. Moye, who has served as CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions, is replacing Gene Austin, president of the former Convio, who joined the nonprofit vendor when it purchased Convio in May.

It would probably be a bigger story if the proposed acquisition of Deltek by venture firm Thoma Bravo did not draw a suit. After all, most merger announcements are followed by notices from law firms investigating possible breaches of fiduciary duty by directors.

GoldMine, the operation newly named after its veteran CRM product, has released its software in German, Spanish, Italian and Russian. The new features hit the market with special pricing that expired by the time I got onto this release (which I swear was not posted anywhere near the date claimed on the website.)

THORNTON NOW COO AT JMT

During the summer, Tom Thornton became chief operating officer at JMT Consulting, a reseller specializing in nonprofit accounting. Thornton had been VP of business development from April 2011 through July and moved to the COO spot of the Patterson, N.Y.-based company in June (apparently with a month of overlap).

The NetSuite website proclaims "Larry's Two Companies Working Together to Help Global Companies Succeed." That's in reference to an executive session being presented by NetSuite's CEO Zach Nelson at Oracle OpenWorld on October 2. For anyone who needs a definition of Larry, that is Oracle chairman Larry Ellison and also founder and funder of NetSuite.

SGS Technology is bringing a bigger technology practice to Eide Bailly. SGS is a subsidiary of Schmitt, Griffiths Smith & Co., based in Salt Lake City, which is merging with Fargo, N.D.-based Eide. The deal is effective November 1.

Nonprofit vendor Blackbaud has introduced Blackbaud CRM 2.94, which features redesigned prospect and research management capabilities. The company says that this allows quicker and easier access to key wealth and modeling data.
