INFOR REVS SHIFTING TO SUBSCRIPTION

The results for software vendor Infor for the second quarter ended October 31 are difficult to describe. The company swung to a loss over the prior year with a drop in revenue. However, Infor is being impacted by a switch of its fiscal year end from May 31 to April 30, which means the push for sales by the ends of quarters is different. The loss for the most recently ended quarter was $2.9 million, compared to income of $13.1 million a year earlier. Revenue dropped to $663.3 million, down 3.3 percent from $685.6 million in the year earlier quarter.

NETSUITE ENHANCES ONEWORLD

NetSuiteNetSuite says the latest enhancements to its OneWorld suite support configured tax compliance in more than 100 countries. The cloud software company said this week OneWorld's Global tax supports omnichannel, omni-country business operations, taking into account the origin and destination of shipments in order to calculate the taxes for a given transaction. Within the European Union, it also handles triangulation reporting requirements for business engagements that span three countries.

MICROSOFT'S DYNAMICS: $2B BIZ

Kirill Tatarinov, former Microsoft executiveMicrosoft has not issued statistics about Microsoft Business Solutions, the organization that has pretty much disappeared, in a long time. But on his LinkedIn page, former MBS head Kirill Tatarinov said that MBS "was a $2B business unit developing and marketing the family of Dynamics ERP and CRM solutions". Since Tatarinov has more than 500 LinkedIn connections, this is not exactly a secret. Tatarinov said in his tenure of eight years and four months that he doubled revenue, which fits previously known information.

AVALARA TO HOLD CONFERENCE

Scott McFarlane, AvalaraAvalara has scheduled its first-ever conference, Crush 2016. The event will be held from May 10-11 at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans Hotel on Bourbon Street. The Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based sales-and-use-tax specialist says the conference is designed for customers and partners. There will be one-on-one training for CPE credits and industry-specific panels led by experts. CEO Scott McFarlane will also address the group. Other events include an executive golf tournament at TPC Louisiana, a Welcome Happy Hour Technology Showcase cocktail reception and dinner parties at two of New Orleans' finest restaurants.

HUNGERFORD JOINS DELL BOOMI

Amede Hungerford, Dell BoomiAmede Hungerford has become chief marketing officer of Dell Boomi, a unit from Dell that markets a cloud-based integration platform. Hungerford was VP of global marketing for NetSuite from June 2010 through October. Hungerford left at a time in which the NetSuite marketing organization has been in a bit of turmoil.

SAGE PAID CEO $2.3M IN 2015

Steve Kelly, SageThe Sage Group paid CEO Steve Kelly about $2.3 million for the year ended September 30, according to the remuneration section of the company's 2015 annual report. That was for Kelly's first year running the software company. He started in November. Those numbers include salary, benefits, bonus and pension. The reports for remuneration in the United Kingdom do not lump in the value of stock and option grants as is the practice in this country.

INTUIT EXEC JOINS AIR NEW ZEALAND

Avi Golan, Air New Zealand Air New Zealand has named Avi Golan, VP of Intuit's Small Business Group, to the role of chief digital officer. His hiring was reported in New Zealand business publications last week. Golan had served in the Intuit job since November 2013. His LinkedIn profile described the position as leading "the platform strategy to grow the QuickBooks ecosystem ..."
