Sage has acquired Alchemex, which makes business intelligence products for the Sage product line. Alchemex is based in South Africa. A spokesperson for Sage North America confirmed the deal but the company has not made any details available. The acquistion was effective on October 1. Alchemex also markets Excel-based products for Syspro and SAP Business One. The company was founded in 2000.

Special offers are hardly unusual. But the language accompanying Microsoft’s recent effort certainly is an eye-catcher. A blog posting said that company was announcing “that seek to aggressively reinvigorate ERP new business growth …” Technically, that phrase was applied to the Give me 5 Offer, which was accompanied by the LMT offer.

The SBS Group New England has acquired Grace Hunt, a Hudson, Mass.-based Dynamics reseller. SBS Group New England is an affiliate of the Woodbridge, N.J.-based SBS Group and part of the latter’s partner network which looks a lot like Microsoft’s plan for Master VARs.
