A second investor group is opposing the sale of Avalara to Vista Equity Partners. Merrion Investment Management Co., a long-term owner of Avalara shares, will vote against the $8.4-billion cash deal, the firm said recently.

The series of 20-percent-plus growth quarters for Oracle NetSuite revenue continued in the first quarter ended June 30. Oracle this week reported that NetSuite revenue was up 27 percent, representing a 30-percent gain in constant currency.

A pre-IPO angel investor in Avalara, is strongly opposing Avalara’s sale to Vista Equity Partners. Altair US, which owns 1 percent of Avalara’s shares, said this week the company was successful despite “running a limited and flawed sale process”.
