CSC INVESTS IN EBECS

CSCCSC, whose operations include UXC Eclipse, has established a partnership with the United Kingdom-based eBECS and invested in the latter company. Under the agreement, eBECS will be CSC's channel delivery partner for Dynamics applications in United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and other areas of EMEA and North America.

ORACLE WINS NETSUITE OFFER

Larry Ellison, OracleAfter sparring with investment firm T. Rowe Price for a couple of months, Oracle has won its bid to take over NetSuite. After extending its tender offer third time, Oracle said the November 4 deadline would be the last. The parties said this week that the bidder, which needed a majority of unaffiliated shares, had 53.21 percent of that class of shares tendered.

CROWE INTROS DYNAMICS AX SUITE

Simon Riley, Crowe HorwathCrowe Horwath has introduced a suite of Dynamics AX apps. The suite comes when Microsoft is pushing Dynamics 365, the cloud version of AX without a clear migration path for the installed base. That lack of migration path has stirred a lot of conversation among users and slowed down buying cloud decisions, according to resellers.

ACQUISITIONS HELP COLUMBUS RESULTS

In this week's earnings webcast, CEO Thomas Honoré cited American purchases, including reseller Interdyn BMI last year, as boosting software sales and services income.

EDGEWATER REVS SAG; NET PLUNGES

Timothy Oakes, Edgewater TechnologyEdgewater Technology saw a steep drop in net income while revenue declined much less sharply for the third quarter ended September 30. Net income plummeted to $43,000 in the most recently ended quarter from slightly more than $1 million a year earlier. Revenue was $30.8 million, down 1.1 percent from $31.2 million in last year's corresponding period.

DYNAMICS 365 HURTING SALES?

Shirley Singleton, Edgewater 33Two Dynamics resellers that report publicly are saying that the move to the cloud with Dynamics 365 is causing sales issues. Denmark-based Columbus and Edgewater Technology both pointed to Microsoft's move to push to the cloud with 365, an online version of Dynamics AX. Edgewater CEO Shirley Singleton said in her company's earnings webcast that the lack of a migration path for the desktop AX users is causing businesses to reconsider buying decisions.
