VERSATA BEATS SAP FOR $345M

Must be something in the air in the last year with companies and suits against SAP.  SAP was ordered to pay Oracle $1.3 billion in December because its former subsidiary, TomorrowNow, had illegally downloaded Oracle software. And now, Versata, which is an aggregator of technology companies, has been awarded $345 million in a patent infringement suit against SAP North America and its German parent. The plaintiffs were Austin, Texas-based Versata Software, and Versata Development Group. Versata originally was awarded $138.6 million in a verdict in August 2009. Read more...
