VAR REALIGNMENT BUILDING
It isn't hard to see more evidence of the realignment of resellers who have been selling midmarket financial packages. Last week's newsletter talked about the realignment in the Microsoft channel, which included five major resellers putting together a distribution group. This week's edition has information about the decision of CBIZ to get out of the market and, the split of the former Faye Pollack & Associates into two organizations, one selling infrastructure and networking products, the other pursuing the accounting software dream.
Then, there is Olsen Thielen Technologies, which has severed its connection with the accounting firm of that name and gone out under the owners, the former unit management, as St. Paul, Minn.-based OTT Inc. This is an equal-opportunity realignment. Faye Pollack was a Sage reseller, Olsen Thielen and CBIZ handle Dynamics GP. VARs are going to continue to move out of the Sage and Microsoft channels as the emphasis increase there on larger resellers. This ought to give the newcomer companies that are recruiting channel some prospects. We are also seeing the continue exit of CPA firms from the business.
