Haley said that stemmed from Deltek's concentration on firms with 50 or more employees. Axium CEO Chris Heim and CFO Dan Mayleben acquired Portland, Ore.-based Axium in January 2013 from Alan and Cathy Mills. Heim and Mayleben are both XIR/partners at investment firm General Catalyst Partners. Heim was CEO of HighJump Software from 1997 until 2006. The business was sold to 3M in 2003. The two will not join Deltek. Axium's products include Ajera, an accounting and project management application, and Project Trek, a collaboration and document management package.
