ROSKILL’S MOVE FROM ACUMATICA Featured

Acumatica posted a brief question and answer period with incoming CEO John Case. A brief comment from chief marketing officer Todd Wells supports the statement Roskill really is moving into a real advisory position with Acumatica’s owners, EQT Partners.

“Jon is one of the largest shareholders of Acumatica and will continue to work with the Acumatica leadership team,” Wells commented in the narrative that published on the cloud software company’s website. I believe that statement is designed for those who might question Roskill’s departure to the parent, effective next month—moves to advisory positions are often what I call a promotion to VP of planning of Outer Mongolia. But Roskill’s move is positioned as one that will have him advisory other EQT portfolio companies and sounds legitimate to me.  Those businesses include ERP vendor IFS and a total of nearly 100 companies, with Acumatica and IFS falling in the TMT (technology, media, telecom) category, which appears heavy on the telecom side and overall, heavily non-U.S.-based companies, He became CEO in March 2014 and eight years can be a very long time for someone to handle the demands of that position. On the other hand, EQT purchased Acumatica in August 2019 and it’s 18 months so. …  Otherwise, the interview did not provide much more than a welcome to Case and his saying he’s looking forward to the new gig.
