The Seattle, Wash.-based company has also consolidated acquisitions with the naming of Carlos "Kazuo" Tomomitsu of the Latin American Country and Rodrigo Zerlotti as GM for Latin America. Tomomitsu was CEO of KeepTrue from February 2012 through September 2016. Avalara acquired the tax content, determination and compliance technology for Brazil from SuitePlus in early 2015 and in the latest round purchased SPL, KeepTrue and TaxVision. Zerlotti was CEO of SuitePlus from January 2010 through January 2015 and as CEO of Suite.tax from December 2015 through September 2016. He was also responsible for the ERP localization of NetSuite.
AVALARA EXPANDS IN BRAZIL Featured
Sales tax vendor Avalara has significantly expanded operations in Brazil in a series of acquisitions. A spokesperson says recent moves grew the business from a handful of consultants and a NetSuite connector to 12 products, four services, and approximately 100 employees. The move follows this month's announcement Avalara had raised $50 million in capital for fueling growth, including M&A.
